Why doesnt my Haan steamer turn on

If your Haan steamer is not turning on, there could be various reasons for this. Here are some troubleshooting procedures to assist you in identifying and maybe resolving the issue:

Check the Power Source: Make sure the steamer is plugged into a working power source. Check if the outlet is operational by using another device or appliance.

Inspect the Power Cord: Look for any visible damage, such as frayed or exposed wires, on the power cord. If there is any damage to the cord, do not use the steamer until it has been fixed or replaced.

Safety Locks and Buttons: Some steamers feature safety locks or buttons that must be engaged before the unit will turn on. Check the user handbook for any special instructions regarding these safety measures.

Water Reservoir: Ensure that the water reservoir is appropriately filled. Many steamers require water to generate steam, therefore they may not operate if the reservoir is empty or the water level is too low.

Safety systems: Some steamers have safety systems that prohibit them from starting if specific requirements are not satisfied. For example, the steamer may need to reach a certain temperature before it can be used. Allow the steamer some time to attain the required temperature.
Overheating Protection: If the steamer includes overheating protection, it will stop down briefly if it becomes too hot. Allow the steamer to cool before using it again.

A malfunctioning power switch or electrical circuitry could be the source of the problem. If you've examined all of the external causes and the steamer still won't switch on, it may need to be inspected and repaired by an expert.

I hope you can solve your problem.

Bissell momentum canister vacuum retractable electrical cord not retracting

Either the cord inside is caught on something or the retraction spring is broken.
Try to pull it out further, if you can feel any spring-back then most likely the cord is caught, maybe on itself.
Either way, the canister will probably have to be disassembled to fix the problem.

Kenmore 116.26212602 cord won't retract completely

This is a common Kenmore problem. The cord may have kinked inside the cord reel, You can remove the top by taking the screws out some are hidden under the switch. If the cord gets too close to the edge of the reel it can bind. Do be careful as the spring in the cord reel can jump out and it hurts. I would take it to a dealer.

The power cord does not retract or rewind when the button is pushed. How can I repair this?

Sometimes you can help get the springs working again, by gently pulling the cord out a little further and then let it slowly in while pushing the cord retract button.

Retractable power cord on my Oreck Little Hero vacum is tangled up in the housing. How do disassemble it? Seems like wheels need to come off to get at one of the housing screws but I can't get them off.

Same thing just happened here. I know there's three plastic tabs that need depressing inside the wheel to get the wheel off but so far, I haven't found enough of the right tools to get all pressed long enough to remove.

I know there shouldn't be any "just push the button and let it retract"------at 100 mph, anymore, which is what caused the issue with this one.

I hope someone posts a quick fix, otherwise this thing is living with an extension cord attached.

I have a Kenmore Vacuum cleaner 116.24212. The retractable electric cord won't retract. How can I fix it?

The retraction mechanizm is likely jammed. Mostly likely the cord has jumped it's groove in the retraction wheel/hub. If you are good with tools there is a 70% chance you can get it to work again with a basic DCR operation. Most mechanical problems can be solved using this simple rule: Dissassemble Clean and Reassemble.

CAUTION: The retract mech has a powerful spring inside, avoid exposing. Most retract mech units are rivoted closed so consumers won't poke thier eye out.
CAUTION: UNPLUG THE UNIT

Open the unit from the bottom and the top lid of the canister should come off.
The retract mech should be obvious as it is where the cord comes into the unit.
Look for the cord being bound by iteslf either on top or underneath (lie two cordes in one groove)
Remove any binding.
If you see no debris or obsticals for the cord to retract (where it is getting stuck)
Your spring could have sprung!
Do you feel and retract at all?
Can you locate the releae mechagnism?
Does the Release button seem to function? When Pressed it should take pressure off of the cord hub.
The retract mech may need replaced. Overall the cost will be about $60 for parts.

Electric cord won't retract

Depends on the machine. If its a Sebo K model then usually pulling on the cord will re-automatically retract the cord anyway. Any other brand and it will need to be replaced by a qualified repair.

Retractable cord

I'm assuming that you have bought the new retractable cord assembly. If you have so, I believe the cord should retract going counter-clock wise (pulling it makes it spin clockwise).
