Formated PC, installed XP, System Mfg Via Technologies, P4VMD, On-Board Sound Card not working
Http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=420&OSID=1&CatID=1010&SubCatID=104 hello, i get all my via drivers from the via arena.(for all that is made by via) i looked up your motherboard, and came up with this, via vt8233 is your chipset- audio-lan-video-chipset driver for that board.you should do all the drivers. first the 4 in one via driver is for the chipset, then the audio-video and any others that are onboard.even if they work-these drivers are newer than the one xp has built in the install cd. so, good luck! if you need further assistance-reply. you wil be ok.please rate this solution. thank you
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pag... this is the main list of drivers for the via vt8233 board. the first link i gave you is for the audio only. pick the ones you need and you are good 2 go. feel free to reply if you have trouble. i think you will be fine. have a good day.
hi, if the info you gave me is correct, you should be ok. if the sound is not working, it could be a broken hardware issue, or simply disabled in the system bios. so check and see if you have a different brand of sound card. (add on) the links i gave you are for the board listed on your post.if you need more help, reply. if the card is an add on, it would be located on one of the pci slots on the computer itself. if not, the connectors (green, blue, red) will on the left side back panel of computer.
green speakers, blue input, red or pink is mic. all the best!
did you get it?
