How do i conect my windows xp to the internet?

I'm not sure what you mean by "connect your windows XP to the internet" Windows XP is an operating system for a computer To connect a computer to the internet, You need a service provider that provides Internet service such as your local cable company. They will install the necessary equipment to connect your computer to the internet. Verizon provides FIOS service in selected areas. These providers provide broadband service
"Comparing Cable and DSL. You can connect to the internet using a modem. Two most widely used broadband modems that transmit analog information and convert it to digital for these purposes are DSL and cable, each with different benefits. Most notably, both are faster than dial-up.".
Dial up service is the least expensive of the services , but it tends to be slower in all aspects of internet service.
tip

Describing Cheap Dial Up Internet Connections

Today you can find a 56k modem. Transmit data at a speed of fifty-six Kbit / s V.90 or V.92 protocol. You must understand that this is the fastest available dial-up modem. 56k is the limit of maximum bandwidth of a standard telephone line. Be sure to connect to the Internet in areas with less noise power to prevent low-speed Internet connection. At this pace, you can play online games, download large files, make video conferences or movies from a video streaming site. Many of these applications are not compatible with Internet Dial-face. A broadband cable high-speed, satellite or DSL Internet service are better preferences.

You should expect all to take a little time to coordinate a phone connection, negotiate the protocol and, finally, allow the transmission of data. In some places, this process is slower. Note that the entire system consists of three entities - the ISP, Telephone Company, and the user. All have the power to terminate the Internet connection for some reason.

Yes of course. Before the introduction of the latest 3G wireless high-speed cable and DSL broadband by satellite, it was a bestseller. Today, it's always a good option for remote areas that lack the technology or broadband fiber-to-date. Satellite networks are suitable for rural people who want to get broadband connections faster and reliable. In urban and rural areas, attracts fewer users dial-up packages which do not require very fast network and you want the lowest cost monthly cost for ISPs.

This technology is very similar to digital subscriber line (DSL), because they use a phone line. However, DSL is more preferable because it is much faster and can use the website and answer a call on the same telephone line. Unfortunately, dial-up does not work the same way, the caller will often find your line is busy. In terms of broadband connections, ADSL first. Offers the latest technologies that offer greater speed and accuracy, such as ADSL, SDSL, VDSL and HDSL.

Error 209600 downloading internet channel on wii

Error 209600 occurs when your Wii times out while trying to connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi servers. This could mean the Nintendo servers are experiencing high traffic, and that you should try again later, or that your bandwidth is too low. The Nintendo Wii does not work properly with anything lower than broadband connections, such as high speed cable or DSL.

I wanna use a phone line to get the internet and the music off my laptop to connect to my xbox 360...?

Phone line? As in dial up? No dice. You need, atleast, a DSL connection or faster to get Xbox live.

You can use a UPnP media server, such as TVersity to stream music from your laptop to the 360. What's cool about TVersity is that even though the music you want to play is an unsupported format for your Xbox, it will automatically transcode (make it into something the Xbox 360 can play).

If you have a broadband connection (e.g. DSL, Cable, Sat, etc.) you can have Tversity stream your favorite internet radio stream to your Xbox 360.

Download the latest Windows Media Player, Tversity or These other media servers, install, configure (TVersity is fairly easy to setup), and go look for the Tversity folder in your Music section in the NXE menu.

I wrote a how-to on setting up TVersity here if you need help setting it up.

Hope this helps,
Bill

Mms settings and internet settings

I found these on a forum a short while back, hope they help

These settings should tide you over...

VPI: 8
VCI: 35
encapsulation: pppoe LLC (also called rfc 2516)
username format : [email protected]exteml.gif

incoming mail server : pop.dodo.com.au
outgoing mail server : smtp.dodo.com.au

Your user name for backup dial up is [email protected]exteml.gif (where xxx is your ADSL user name). Then for the password, it is your ADSL password.

The number to connect is 0198333516. You can confirm this by visiting Dodo website and go to their dial up number site.

* I have found this on a DODO forum site. They did mention it worked fine.

Cheers!

D-link cant accesed internet 4pc

Most of DSL modems are connected to PC with USB cable...
n if ur server is connected with other pc on lan .. you can use internet sharing option available in winxp.

Following are the steps to enable Internetsharing for other pcs.

How to use Internet Connection Sharing loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); To use Internet Connection Sharing to share your Internet connection, the host computer must have one network adapter that is configured to connect to the internal network, and one network adapter or modem that is configured to connect to the Internet.

On the host computer loadTOCNode(3, 'summary'); On the host computer, follow these steps to share the Internet connection:
  1. Log on to the host computer as Administrator or as Owner.
  2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Click Network and Internet Connections.
  4. Click Network Connections.
  5. Right-click the connection that you use to connect to the Internet. For example, if you connect to the Internet by using a modem, right-click the connection that you want under Dial-up.
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Click the Advanced tab.
  8. Under Internet Connection Sharing, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box.
  9. If you are sharing a dial-up Internet connection, select the Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box if you want to permit your computer to automatically connect to the Internet.
  10. Click OK. You receive the following message: When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be set to use IP
address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on
your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, it is a good idea to set them
to obtain their IP addresses automatically. Are you sure you want to enable Internet
    Connection Sharing?
  11. Click Yes.
The connection to the Internet is shared to other computers on the local area network (LAN). The network adapter that is connected to the LAN is configured with a static IP address of 192.168.0.1 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

let me know if it helps.

It looks like there are a lot of DNS servers that do not work correctly with the PS3. Below I will list a few DNS servers that do seem to work and you will need to manually configure the DNS settings for your PS3 to any of these addresses.

Ps3 online

Dial up is NOT recommended. I honestly do not think it would even work. DSL and broadband work great. If you get DSL or broadband you would need your original ethernet cord and hook up the PS3 from your router. If you go wireless then you would need a wireless router.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
