Re: I have an Maytag model # MAEDZ600TW2 Epic Z Electric...
There are 2 common reasons your dryer will not heat.
1. Your limit switch is out on the dryer not allowing the heating element to switch on.
2. Your heating element is out.
before you try to fix this yourself it should be covered by warranty.

Are you sure you dont need a professional Dry Vent inspection and cleaning?
If you are in the market for an Dryer Vent cleaning check out Dryer Vent Cleaning Dallas Tx.
Some item may have gotten between the drum that rotates and the housing and during the rolling of the drum this item may be heating up from the friction. Check closely to see if you can find anything rubbing on the drum.
Check the exhaust hose for crimping or blockage. Some models have a drum shaped inlet that slides over the fan housing inlet. A lot of times the lint literally piles up at the bottom in that inlet drum till it begins to restrict flow.
I changed the Drum belt on my Maytag this morning and, when I removed that part to get the belt around the drum, I was able to pull out a fist full of lint that had accumulated in that inlet drum that had to get by the lint screen first.
I note the vent is clean.... Now start checking for heat from that vent with the dryer on. You did not mention the model number so we at FixYa do not know if this is a gas or electric dryer. If it is electric cycle the circuit breaker to off (PUSH hard to OFF) then back on. There is a chance that only 1 breaker is connected. It would run and not heat.
Also the airflow out the back of the dryer should gently push a relaxed hand / wrist away from the vent outlet. If it does not do this you have an airflow problem. Look inside the dryer vent outlet for any signs of lint build up. You can have a clean vent but a blocked dryer vent inside the dryer. Go outside the house and check the thru the wall vent hood and flapper for lint buildup. This is a VERY common airflow restriction point. check BOTH sides of the metal flapper for lint. Lastly if after all of this you still have airflow problems the blower wheel hub can be broken or lint on the blower wheel.
Pull the lint filter and wash the filter with vinegar and water then soap and water. Fabric sheet particulate can cause restricted airflow. Also take a flashlight and look hard around the lint filter area for lint build up. Use a folded metal coat hanger to assist in lint removal along with a vacuum and crevice tool.
If you do not have heat... at all... after all of this; please respond with a model number so we can sort out where to go next in troubleshooting.
Dryer suddenly stop working when pushing start button (knob will make a humming or ticking kind of noise but won't turn on. I cleaned and check the outside exhaust and lint screen passage. Nothing is helping. help
