I have a Paykel & Fischer washer, Model GWL10U2. It just stopped, leaving some water in the tub (1/2 load of laundry). Tried to re-start, nothing. Checked the outlet, unplugged it, plugged it back in, still nothing. Tried another outlet, still nothing! If I can't restart it, how will I know what the error code is? Help!!!

You need to understand that we can't see what you can. When you say it stopped, does that mean there is still power on & lights showing but it won't start or is there no power at all. Big difference in the way each will be fixed. If no power lights at all then you will need to call a service company as the main control board will have died.

Open and close lid, listen for 'clicking' sound. If no 'clicking' sound, check/replace lid switch. Also try tightening the lid hinge screws on the left side. if these screws come loose, the machine will not operate

SOURCE: LD is on my display-nothing will clear it and washer doesnt drain

the ld code means a long drain, what you probably have is something blocking the drain pump.
you can get to the drain pump from the back of the unit and it will be the pump on the left as you face the back.
you will need to remove the hose going into the pump and be ready for water to come out. sorry but you need to check inside the hose as there will be something blocking it. like a coin or some lint or a small sock.
when you get the item out of the hose then it should work again. you do not need to reset the control. once it knows the unit is draining properly it will be ok.

Locking controls
The Control Lock prevents unintended use of the washer. You
can also use the control lock feature to prevent unintended cycle
or option changes during a cycle. When CONTROL LOCKED is
lit, all buttons are disabled. You can lock the washer while it is
operating.

To lock the controls
Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds.
The CONTROL LOCKED status light glows.

To unlock the controls
Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the
CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off.

SOURCE: Bosch Nexxt Premium WFMC6400UC washer has error

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you`ve been stuck so long. The first thing to do is get any water out which may still be present.

As for the problem you`ve described, typically what this really means is an obstruction/debris inside the drain pump, specifically the button trap/lint filter insert preventing the unit from spinning or draining properly.

You haven`t mentioned whether you`ve checked the pump or not, so I`ll assume you didn`t. This is how...

**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**

  1. Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say, I'd guess you could get wet. ( unless you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
  2. Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner)
  3. Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door.
  4. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves).
  5. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a red ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out.
  6. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code.
  7. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test.
  8. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks.
The error code should be gone when you restart a cycle however, if the error return`s you`ll need to check further for blockages in the drain hose, or the bellows from the tub to the pump.

Ultimately you could have a faulty control, but not very likely.

Hope this help`s. Thank you for visiting "fixya", please take a moment to rate the solution provided here accordingly.

Let me know if you require further assistance. Good luck.

SOURCE: Fisher Paykel Washer IWL 12 error codes 130 & 240

Had the same problem cleaned the terminals worked for a bit and came back. The problem is that the little circit board that the plug goes onto that sits between the winding of the motor the copper tracks are so small and they corrode. If you are handly with a solding iron you can replace the tracks with small wire, its mainly on one leg of each of the transistors that are all parrelled up. You can tell because it goes black. Or the easy way just take off the motor unpluging the sense plug then the three main power connectors Yellow, blue and red making sure you mark the correct order to put them back on. The sensor board just pulls out of the windings with a little arrow to but it back in the right place and buy the small board it has the part number on it to find it on the web. I only has three bits on it can't be expensive. Soldered mine up works a treat make sur you clean up the plug aswell, it mainly played up in humid weather.

Gwl10u2 fisher paykel washer iwl15 can't get it to turn on? Checked the outlet,it's ok. Tried another outlet, still nothing! Help!!!

the fuse on the motor controller has blown. you can replace this fuse, but you will most likely have a short circuit / fault in the pump or motor. check for signs of wear on these, and check for earth faults before re powering machine with new fuse / motor controller.

the pipe you are using is too small for the amount of water you are forcing into it

When the washer is pumping water in it makes a noise like the pump is starving for water. I have checked water flow through the lines and the inlet filters ar not stoped up.

The only thing I've ever had to replace on that model washer is the pump, and they go out all the time. You have to order it from fischer and pakel directly, and it is extremely easy to replace (can do it with no tools at all) Remove the wires from the pump. Ther is a plastic tab that releases it so you can turn it. Turn it 1/4 turn and it will come out. To get a pump call 888-936-7872 (fischer and pakel customer care)

After the clothes have spun dry, a small amount of water accumlates in the tub; generally 1/4 inch or so. Why BTW, I'm not sure that I've selected the correct model. Our washer is about 3 years old.

If draining into laundry tub, chances are water is siphoned back into washer due to laundry tub slow drain.
Very long drain hoses( such as 10+ feet) will also cause this.

M9503 washer dryer not draining before dry cycle.

Check these out:
  • If your washer spins but does not pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that is attached to the pump or even into the pump itself. It it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.
  • To remove the item from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Using a needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the stuck item through the port.
  • Check your washer for a frozen pulley. Remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely, it's frozen, replace it.
  • If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back after the spin cycle, your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub.
  • Also check for these problems:
  1. If the drain hose reaches more than 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut the excess.
  2. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

Spots on clothes after washing

Put another filter on before the washer. Try to find out if it is in the hot water or the cold. If it is the cold try a filter. If it is the hot, replace your hot water tank.

My maytag washer has a burning smell.

What model do you have.?It doesn't sound like it was spinning.A frozen pump would make the belt burn and it would leave some water in the tub .
