RX-V800 shuts off after 7 seconds turned it on, what should I do?

I'm Electronic Engineer and I have been trying to fix a RX-V800, I replaced two bad transistors Q22A and Q22C(Front right pwr)and drivers. After this action, it didn'n work when pushed its stby/on, now its display keeps light on for 7 seconds approximately then it turns off. Maybe the protection circuitry has been activated. For working properly, does it necessary to connect all the speakrs? How does Protection Circuitry work? By the way, I have RX-V800's electronic diagram. All the best, Rasgador

    Hi!

Just let you know that I fixed this problem, in fact, I have forgotten to fix ground's screw (G2) or (TP00385), the mainly ground on RX-V800's Board. After did do that, to fix ground's screw on Main board, the RX-V800 worked properly.

    Thanks Anyway.

    All the best,

    Rasgador

Yamaha RX-V800 shuts down when any control button is pressed

What if you DON'T use the remote? Does it shut down when just using it?

If SO, you have a bigger problem.

If NOT, it sounds like the remote is hosed - sending a code to shut off.

Do you have another remote of any brand that you could set to do something simple, like change volume? Don't train it from the original, though, or it would do the same thing.

Yamaha RX-v800 av receiver will not power up. Was playing and just shut off & will not powere up again. Was in a stereo/tv cabinet with closed glass doors. Cabinet compartment has vent holes in back....

Mine did the same thing two days ago. No reason to suspect overheat as mine is in the open. Could be the power supply? Mine comes on after sitting for a while.

Yamaha RX-V800 volume knob on receiver not working.

It sounds like the volume control pod has gone bad and needs replaced (The knob shaft connects to the pod main body and the inside of the volume pod is what controls the rate of volume,If the inside becomes worn ,broken or dirty the volume will become erratic) Replace volume pod ! ..You may try cleaning by taking off the volume knob and getting a can of pressure air and blowing the dust out!

Yamaha rx-v800 remote control's damaged

it can be accessed via the main unit controls but you need to go through your manuals. Maybe you can get your remote repaired still... maybe not badly damaged caused by corrosion.

Rx-v800 shuts off after few seconds

Hi, You should try to see, on main board, the ground G2(TP00385), just to make sure if the screw is too tight. Its location on Schematic Diagram (Main) is E8. All the best, Rasgador
