How do you turn the beep off?

Can you turn the beep off on a Neff Microwave oven? It beeps for about 1/2 minute when it finishes!

    That's brilliant! I scoured the manual and there's certainly no mention of holding down the start button for 6 seconds to decrease the beep time from 30 to 3. Bliss indeed - thanks again!

Finally worked out how to do this today! I don't know what model you've got (I don't know what one I've got - it's built in and we've lost the manual) but try pressing the START button for six seconds. This should change the default from 30 beeps to 3 beeps. Bliss.

KEMS379BSS just installed. When I run the microwave at end of time it beeps 3 times light goes out but fan stays running. after a few minutes it beeps 3 times again, etc. etc. and never shuts off.
The microwave is not supposed to shut off if you have food in it. it is designed to stay running so you will not forget your popcorn.

Neff - reduce the beeps
I notice you did not list the make and model, but in general they beep 3 to 4 times or more, it is not uncommon for some to give more. If you have your owners manual there might be a option offered, or contact the manufacture and talk to customer support and the technical department for a possible solution.

On page 21 of the owner's manual (online here), that's covered under "AUDIBLE SIGNAL ELIMINATION":

If you wish to have the oven operate with no audible signals, touch CUSTOM HELP, the number 2 and STOP/CLEAR.

To cancel and restore the audible signal, touch CUSTOM HELP, the number 2 and START/MINUTE PLUS.

JVM1490 IS BEEPING EVERY 4-5 MIN ONE BEEP
The manual states that it will beep once a minute after food cooks until you open the door or press stop. Other than that, it sounds like an error condition. But you might contact the GE Answer Center at 1-800-626-2005 Monday 6 a.m. ET through Saturday midnight ET.
