I just purchased a 70" Sharp Aquos LED TV. The problem I am having is when I turn my TV on after about 1 to 2 minutes 6 icons appear on top left corner of my TV screen. When this happens it seems to lock my functions on my controller. The only functions I can use is changing channels and turning my TV on and off with power button. Can anyone out there please tell me how I can remove or turn off these icons from appearring on my screen. Thank Yoy, Desperation.

Usually the settings can't be turned off and the audio settings are searching for whatever is being outputted from the program itself whether mono or stereo. It is nuisance I know.

Usually the DISPLAY Button on your TV remote will toggle through several different functions: 1 sec, 5 sec, Always on..... Press button until display on TV is off. Or see if there is an ON SCREEN DISPLAY portion in the TV Menu and turn it to off if you have not checked that already.

SOURCE: blank screen with other displays still working

1. By View your DVR, Do you mean you can actually see a picture?
2. By "Switch Channels", are these channels being tuned by the TV Tuner?

Your LCD Panel is OK Since you have a Picture (input display in right corner)
If you can see a picture with your DVR, VCR, DVD or any external source then your TVs Video Processing is OK....if not you will probably need to replace the responsible PWB for this function
If you can see a picture with the external sources and only the TV's Tuner is not showing Video, The PWB responsible for Tuning within the TV should be replaced.

Also, if all problems are associated with only the DVR (I assume this is Sat or Cable), then it is most likely that this device is not functioning properly. Possibly lost signal or deauthorized.

I have a 60 inch Sharp Aquos Tv with two dim spots on it. One at the top center 16 inches long and one at the bottom left corner 12 inches long. Do you know what is going on?

H Anon,

How old is the TV? It could be a problem with the inverter or the LED/LCD panel. Try removing all cables from the screen for at least 15 minutes (including power) and then reconnect and power on the TV. Sometimes a dim spot can appear if the inverter isn't working correctly and dissipating any residual power can help.

Best of luck!

I have a Sharp 70" (LC-70LE632U) LED TV. When you turn it on, the front led is on, but no screen. After a few seconds, the front led starts 5 short and 2 longer blink and continue this way constantly.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices
http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/

Blinking codes details of many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location

MY SHARP AQUOS 70" tv STARTED HAVING DARK SHADOWS ACROS 1/2 OF THE SCREEN, THE OTHER HALF OF THE SCREEN IS FINE. DO I HAVE A hdmi INPUT PROBLEM OR IS THERE A TV DEFECT?

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.
