Denon AVR-987 System setup lockout

Help!!! I think I may have locked myself out of our Denon system setup. When I hit the System Setup button both on the remote and on the front of the Denon system, nothing happens. How can I get back into System setup? Many thanks!!!

Okay, figured it out. You have to be in the VCR source in order to go into the System Setup.

YOU NEED TO HAVE A MONITOR OUT CABLE FROM THE DENON COMPOSITE, S-VIDEO, COMPONENT OR HDMI TO AND UNUSED INPUT ON THE TV.
SELECT THAT INPUT ON THE TV AND PRESS THE SETUP BUTTON ON THE DENON REMOTE AND YOU SHOULD GET A VIDEO SIGNAL ON THE TV TO UNLOCK

How to connect Denon avr 1804 connecting to roku hd

I connected by Roku to a Denon 1804 Receiver this way:- I plugged the cable that came with the Roku into VCR2 input jack of the Denon. (I used VCR2 because it was available).- Using the remote from the Denon, I made sure the slide switch was on "Audio." (See page 20 of Denon Manual).- I pressed pressed the System Setup button- *System Setup appears in display of Denon- Using the cursor buttons I scrolled to menu Digital in Assignment- I set Menu item 16 Coaxial to VCR2 since that was the input jack I used for the Roku. - After making the selection press the CH Select Enter button to save- To exit the System Setup press the System Setup button again- When using the Roku, select the input source as VCR2 (or whatever jack you used). You should now have sound through the Denon. The most important step is to read the Denon manual starting on page 20

I can't get a menu screen up on my Denon AVR 2803.

Did someone turn the OSD off on the menu? You might try a reset of the receiver. This would be in your manual.

I have a Denon-987 receiver. I setup the speaker to the manual instructions, but I cannot hear output when I run the test. This is a demo unit. Should I run a factory reset? Are there other...

There's no user parameter for "no sound during Test Tones" so a reset would be futile.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute, Tape control or Multichannel Analog (EXT) Input selected.

How to access denon avr-3300 system setup

Hi,

First make sure that your remote control is set to "Amp" as it can control many different devices.

Then make sure that you have connected the Monitor Out socket on the receiver to your TV.

Next make sure your TV is set to show the picture from the input you connected to the Denon monitor out.

Now press set-up button on the remote and the System Setup menu should appear on your TV.

If this helps then please rate my answer,

Many thanks,

Chris

Hit some buttons, now i can get 7 channel output.

Get into System Setup and run through the Speaker Configuration routine. My bet is it thinks you don't have Surround Back speakers.

On my denon avr 1700 the optical is off how do i turn it on. thanks

Open the door on your remote. Select "system" button...then hit "next" button to scroll through setup features. It will be option number 10. Use the up/down arrows underneath the "next" button...this will allow you to assign the optical input to a particular input, e.g. DVD player. then just touch the "system" button again. You should be set.

Cant Access System Setup on Denon AVR-588

Are you connected with video cables to a tv or "monitor" this is more than likely were the setup is visible for speaker configuration, input assignment etc, most denon receivers work this way so I would suspect you need to re-check the video connection until a set-up picture appears.
