Rca tv/vcr combo tamper proof light on, don't have original remote, just a direct tv universal remote, model r-65

If you have a universal remote you have to hold the button that says toggle or a button equilivent to that for five seconds than the tamper proof light will turn off than you can you tv on I had to figure this out on my own.

Hold down the tamper proof button on your remote for up to ten seconds, until the tamper proof light will blink and light will go off. This will turn off the Tamper Proof button.

As you know, the Tamper Proof function is activated and de-activated holding the Toggle/Source/Input button for about five seconds.

If your universal remote does not have this button (under any name), then try all buttons.

Try also disconnecting power cord for five minutes, this will reset most TV functions.

If still no luck, then you will need a different remote to get rid of the function.
Try all buttons on your remote. If the Tamper Proof had been activated using this remote with this codes, then it can be turned off using the same remote.
