Recently we've had a rash of 4250 & 4350 with a jam problem with tray3 jams. One was a non-lift problem. The rest have been just unexplanable jams, even after replacing every component possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Swap tray 2 and 3.Replace all feed rollers. Check fuser unit. It could be a bad feed clutch.

My printer says I have paper jam, please remove. but i have only been able to remove partial pieces. How do I get at the rest left in a spot I can not reach

Here's a link from which you should be able to download the online manual with a troubleshooting section that includes specific instructions on clearing a paper jam. See also this page, as I have no great confidence in the links I get from canon, their website is so backwards. If you choose the service and support option, then ask "how do I clear a paper jam" you'll see the instructions they offer.
Issue: Paper is jammed inside the printer
Solution: Remove foreign object from paper feed area (MP130)

Remove foreign object from paper feed path If error message
  • [PLEASE CLEAR PAPER JAM AND PRESS [OK]] or
  • [CHECK PRINTER]
is displayed, follow this procedure to remove paper or obstructions from the machine. Clearing Jams In The Paper Output Tray:
  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out of the Paper Output Tray.

    mp130_extjam.gif

  2. Press .

  3. If you cannot see any jammed paper in the Paper Output Tray, remove it from the machine's interior.
    1. Press to power off the machine.
    2. Lift up the Scan Unit until it locks into place.
    3. Open the Paper Output Tray.
    4. Look in the print area for an obstruction (such as a paper clip, staple, tape, etc.) and then remove it.

  4. If you are printing from an application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer.
Clearing Jams From The Auto Sheet Feeder:
  1. Gently pull out any jammed paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder.

  2. Press .

  3. If you are printing from an application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer.

Sorry I can't offer you much more, but just try to get all the bits out. Sometimes a pointy tool on a vacuum will help. Otherwise, maybe you can wrap and tape a post-it note around a popsicle stick or something to reach the paper and try to coax it out, or maybe a bit of folded tape on the end of a ruler or something like that. Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Please advise what you charge for solving following problem:\r\n"Paper jam on Brother MFC-260C:Following Brother User's Guide, I removed the Jam Clear Cover, and pulled out jammed paper, but got only...

1. Unplug machines power cord from the power outlet. 2. Lift the scanner cover using the plastic tabs, located on the left and right side of the machine until it locks securely into the open position. 4c89ecbe03c0173ae1000000cd8620c6.gif 3. Remove all of the paper scraps stuck inside the machine. NOTE: The print head can be moved manually with hand to assist with removing all of the paper scraps. 4c89ed1103c0173ae1000000cd8620c6.gif

4. Turn the machine around and open the Jam Clear Cover (1). Look inside the machine and remove any jammed paper. Then close the Jam Clear Cover (1).

5. After removing all of the paper scraps, Close the scanner cover by lifting the scanner cover to release the lock. Gently push the green scanner cover support down and then close the cover.

6. Remove the paper tray from the machine.

7. Place one of your hands under the LCD unit and into the opening of where the paper tray was.

8. Using your hand, lift the front of the machine approximately 6 inches off the surface.

9. Look inside the tray areas roof of the machine and you should see a row of black rollers. See picture below.

4c899f921aad6d37e1000000cd8620c6.jpg

10. Look in-between each of the black rollers for a piece of stuck scrap paper. (A flash light may need to be used if you are having trouble locating the paper scrap).

11. Using a pair of tweezers, the paper scrap can be easily removed from the exit rollers.

12. Place the machine gently down onto the surface.

- If paper scraps were found and removed from the machine, continue to STEP 13.

- If no paper scraps were found inside the machine, the paper in the tray may be causing the issue. If the paper is slightly curled, the print head will catch the edge of the paper and tear it. To resolve the issue, the paper must be replaced.

- If you do not have replacement paper, follow the rest of this solution, after you have replaced the paper.

- If you replaced the paper, continue to STEP 13.

13. Put the paper tray back into the machine.

Printer now not printing, as it says there is a paper jam

it sounds as though your pick up rollers are worn. when the oprinter can not pick the paper from the selected tray (tray 2 in your case) then it shows up as a jam. to sort this you will need:

One of these: RM1-0036-020: PAPER PICK-UP ROLLER ***'Y
Two of these: RM1-0037-020: PAPER FEED ROLLER ***'Y

Hope This Helps

Paper jam message

Richie, I ve had the same message and was wondering why: You have to open the printer. You will find rest of paper near the left side gear wheels(where powercord is pluged in) which cant be seen from outside. Another point is that the encoder strip (foil paralell to printhead belt) might be out of position. The jammed paper hamight had pushed the encoder out of position. the encoder strip has to be fixed upon the printhead.

'paper jam' error on canon pixma ip4300

Hi guys, I eventually found a solution to the problem for my printer. With the top cover open, I pushed a sheet of 120 micron thickness A4 clear plastic binding cover through the exit tray as far as it would go to rest against the bottom row of rollers. I switched the printer off then back on again and as the rollers lifted momentarily, I pushed the sheet of plastic as far up through the machine as I could before the rollers went down again - it went in a fair distance. The printer then ejected the plastic sheet. I then put the plastic sheet into the paper tray and tried to print a blank document page. The plastic fed through cleanly and my printer has been working since without any error messages. I hope this works for you.
