Fuji F400 digital. When I switch the camera on to take a picture the picture on the screen is fuzzy and it will not take a picture. This is the second time it has happened and I am not happy at all.

Check to see if the flash has been set to a lower power or underexposes via a +/- setting. If not, warranty repair unless the camera has been damaged.

I need a flash for my fuji finepix s7000 camera. what do you recommend?

That camera has one of the most powerful built-in flashes and would be hard to beat for a good price. Generally a flash is good for up to 12 feet, but this one is rated to over 25 feet! Chang your ISO sensitivity to a higher one, such as 3200 to see if the flash can produce what you want.
You may be disappointed on any recommended third-party flash.... but here goes:

Sunpak is probably the premium flash for that camera (using the hotshoe). use the A or M setting and let the flash do the metering.
Still, it won't work much over 30 feet or so.

What exactly are you trying to do? Flash pictures in full darkness will never work on any camera past 30 feet.

Fuji s7000

Thanx to forum input I found a Quantaray qb-350a flash with a single contact on the hotshoe. By turning on "external flash" in the Fuji s7000 allows the Q350 to work beautifully and for about $40 bucks. It also works on earlier Fuji's like the 6200.
Thanx

Lense stuck in out position

Hi. If your camera is turning on with the lens stuck out. Turn the camera on, and without turning it off, open the battery door, and take the batteries out. Leave it for about 1-2 minutes and try again. This process is call power reset. Usually works. Good Luck.

FUJI FINEPIX S7000

Try it with a different set of battery. It is possible that one of your battery is "dead" or close to it, and the camera shuts down.

You have to find the bad battery.

It worked for me.
