Disk drawer will not open,Cd is stuck inside, Cd still plays

For the VHS tape that is stuck inside of the VCR.You should call a person that repairs and fixes VCR's to have a look and see what the issues is and why the cassette drawer is unable to open up.

take the top lid off, unplug first

unscrew housing remove platter.

THis happens when the drawer is jammed. Turn off the unit and turn it on and then use the disc skip from the remote so that the cds inside will change and then press the Open button.

If the drive is trashed, just force the drawer open. If you don't want to do that, you should be able to disassemble the drive enough to get the disk out by removing screws... Sometimes the screws are underneath stickers, or warranty stickers, etc etc.

maybe you have defective mechanical ejection! maybe the lock is stock. this is need to open to hook up the lock

Hi, The CD drawer mechanism needs a new belt. They have a motor that drives the tray mechanism, and there's a small belt that drives the main gear so that pushing the drawer in gently to close it doesn't damage anything. However, once that belt breaks/wears out, the drawer will stay in whatever position it was last in.

Under the drawer is a little latching metal clip - you can use a small screwdriver to gently operate the latch, it is probably just stuck in the open position.
