TV SHUT OFF WHILE WATCHING. UNPLUG AND THEN PLUGED BACK IN. RED LIGHT CAME ON IN FRONT FOR A SECOND AND WENT BACK OFF. TV WILL NOT COME ON.

WHILE WATCHING A MOVIE, THE HITACHI SHUT OFF. POWER WAS STILL ON TO DVD PLAY. UNPLUGED TV AND THEN PLUGED BACK IN. TURNED TV ON AND RED LIGHT ON FRONT CAME ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND WENT BACK OFF. COULD NOT GET TV TO COME BACK ON.

    yes, i know the dvd had nothing to do with the tv shutting off. is there anyway to run a test to determine where the short is?

Power in the tv has nothing related with the DVD. The tv has to have raster (white screen) even without signal (cable, DVD, others) if the tv alone is just having the led flashing and neither sound nor video (black screen) The tv has a short circuit in some of the boards that are part of the tv system. the blinking is part of a protection when the tv was created in the factory. Refer to the technician to repair this problem.

Tries tv unplug replug the tv back about an hour later,might resetting the tv back factory setting and should work again.Still have the problems,the main board it is shorted and dead require changing.The main board that board were the incoming broadcasting signal wire plug into it.U have some basic machanic skills like take things a parts and putting it back together again.Should have no problems change this board at all..Tried websites like Shopjimmy.com,eBay.com to buy a refurbish main board for the replacement.
