I have installed this unit and all the wires are all connected, however I have absolutely no sound at all. I re-wired everything a second time and still no sound. There is all two slots, one is for the GPS and the other is an empty SD slot. Do I need to install a new SD card for anything.

What type of car was this installed in? Certain cars have a factory amp in the car and it just might be a popped fuse.

I removed an aftermarket alarm in my 02 blazer. Red, pink, and yellow wires were spliced, put them back with electric tape. Now truck starts and instantly dies, and alternator makes quiet buzing sound

You definitely have wires crossed. I would undo your splices one at a time until the lights go of and the alternator stops it's thing. Then check the wire colors again closely

Arcam avr-250 shuts off?

New problem?

Did you move it recently? Sometimes the speaker wires are stripped too long and short out against each other in the back

Disconnect EVERYTHING from the unit but please take great care to document how everything is connected so you can connect it again the same way.

IF the unit powers on fine with everything dis-connected, I can assume that you have a connections problem with the speaker wires being the most likely culprit.

Make sure your speaker wires are not stripped too long where bare copper is touching other terminals OR make sure the speaker wire is pushed cleanly into the speaker connections without stray wires to cause a short.

Also make sure you have the speaker wires connected to the proper terminals and are not mis-wired into the wrong terminals.

IF it still shuts down after a few seconds with nothing connected then there is an internal problem that will need to be repaired.

Good luck.

Not getting any sound from my i-pod Pioneer AVH-P4050DVD

I had the same problem with my Pioneer AVH-P4050DVD

Radio and CD worked fine

DVD would play and I could hear the audio but no video

USB and iPod. It would connect and I could brouse, select and play songs but I would not get any audio even though I could see the track playing, finnishing and moving on to the next one (very frustrating).

Front Aux (Aux 1). I could turn this port on to audio, select it and plus an audio sorce in but no audio would come out.

The solution..
The Pioneer AVH-P4050DVD is odd and different from most other pioneeres in that it has two earth leads that both need to be grounded (2 in addition to the handbreak wire). I had insalled my unit using a toyota - pioneer wireing adaptor I bought from Repco. This adaptor only grounded the wire coming from the corner of the plug (opposite the battery wire). The second earth is located becide the first earth, opposite the ignition wire. If you google pioneer 16 pin wiring diagram it might call this pin BGSENS (pin 13 in the attached photo). With the wireing harness I had this pin was not connected to anything. Once I grounded the second earth (soldered directly to the first earth) everything worked.

Good luck. Hope that helps.

No Sound

A couple of things here. The yellow wire isn't for an amp; the blue wire is. The yellow wire should be connected to constant power. Secondly, that truck may have a factory amp, in which case you have to connect the blue wires to the remote for that amp, or it will light up, but you will never get any sound.

I just installed a prestige aps787c in my 1993 pathfinder today. The unit doesn't respond to any function of the remote. When I turn the ignition to the on position, the horn beeps and the siren...

There could be several issues: make sure that you have a constant 12 volt source on the fused red wires of the 787. Make sure that you have a good ground for the 787. Make sure that the antenna is plugged in. For programming it is absolutely necessary that the blue wire at the six pin plug of the 787 is connected to the vehicles ignition wire(12 volts at on, crank and run).

For reference: the ignition wire is black with white, the starter wire is black with yellow, the second starter wire is black with yellow, the accessory wire is black with blue and the battery wire is white with black.

Note: for the second starter; use the optional 4 pin plug of the 787. Connect the pink wire to the second starter wire of the vehicle and program it for starter output.

≥Check the connections.

≥Turn the volume up.

≥Turn muting off.

≥Switch off the unit, determine and correct the cause, then switch the unit on.

Causes include:

-Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires.

-Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit.

-Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power.
-Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation.

Sony amp 1000w

Check the wiring of the speakers (both inside the box and between the box and the amp). It sounds like one speaker is wired incorrectly at one connection point.

No sound

I have the same problem but it works for about two minutes before it cuts off I think its a short in the speaker wire because I've tested everything else and it still did the same thing

Not Holding the Memory

Sounds like a wiring problem.

There is a YELLOW wire that should be connected to a constant +12 volt supply when the vehicle is off. This retains the settings.

Check the connections and see if thats the problem.
