But as regards to your problem its the capacitors in your tv dont worry its quite easy. in your tv there are like little small things called capacitors and they control the power the tv coming on and things like that. what i did was looked on the web , youtube , on how to fix and replace a capacitor in my "model " tv and videos came up as to what to do and how to do it. dead easy i went about finding the bad blown capacitor and went to maplins and bought the new one and replaced it. and it worked a dream.

It sounds like a bad LCD panel but you would have to post a picture of the problem for me to be sure

SOURCE: sony bravia tv not working

Hi Elaine!

Please follow the steps mentioned below to troubleshoot the issue:
If the TV standby light is blinking for five times then you may perform the steps given below:
(i) Turn off the TV then disconnect all the cables from the TV.
(ii) Next, reconnect all the cables after two minutes.
(iii) Please make sure that the power cable from the TV is directly connected to a functional wall outlet.
(iv) Next, you may try resetting the TV to the original factory settings.

Please follow the steps that are mentioned below to reset the TV to the original factory settings:

(a) Turn ON the TV.
(b) Press and hold the Power button on the Remote Control supplied with the TV, then press the Power button on the TV front panel.
(c) Release the Power button. The TV will turn itself off, then back ON again.
(d) Next, release the Reset button on the Remote control.

If the standby light still blinks then the issue may be with the projection lamp in the TV and requires replacement.

SOURCE: A fine green vertical line displayed on the Sony Bravia 46.

Thats a pixel data problem, there's no data being sent to that row of pixels so they don't change color. This is a pixel address registry (PAR) issue and the PAR circuits need to be serviced its usually due to open or shorted SMT components on the PAR circuits. PAR also sends data, voltage, and control to each pixel, the green line you see are pixels that have voltage but because there's no data sent too them their all green because there's no control. If the pixels have voltage but no data or control they show up as green red, blue, yellow, or whit line vertically down the LCD panel. The vertical-horizontal section of PAR are controlled by 16 to 32 bit micro-controllers which may need replacing. If its under warranty take it back if not have your local repair center fix the tv for you...

Sony Bravia KDL-40S4100. When powered on I get solid green light, no sound or picture. When I remove the small 5 pin cable located on the left side of the main board (S040FHD 07452-3) the back light...

It sounds that the panel is faulty. A plain green screen denotes it. If you're sound in electronics, and wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Flip card, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window. Defective screen shots to LCD TVs are given by illustrations. You can compare it to that of your TVs' and can make confirm.

We have a 2007 Sony Bravia 46" KDL-46VL130. There is not sound or picture. When we power it on the green light comes on blinking once and then the red light blinking once and then the green light stays on....

Does the front light stays green ? Or goes back to red ? The back-light going on/off maybe the problem, but it shoul return with a red blinking led (4 times ?) and if so it can be a power inverter problem.

Green screen with sound from cable, but picture is fine with Wii

That would be my solution. The trouble is either in the box or your connecting cables. Verify this by connecting the cable directly to the set. Then try a new set of connecting cables, or call the cable provider to replace the box.
