First question. Is this a optical connection? second. can the single output point be split with some type of patch cable to interface with a standard amp, right and left aux RCA jack? I want to connect the TV to an external power amp and the TV has only a single, orange, RCA, digital audio output.

The orange jack is a DIGITAL audio out and cannot be hooked to anything other than a digital input. You want to use the White/Red jacks at the bottom.
Ahh, the description says your problem is with the distribution hub not a TV...
Wht model TV is that? Also what kind/model amp? If it's a Digital surround reciever/amp it should have the same style digital input....
After looking at the rear panels of both of those units, I have bad news. You can't do it. The reciever you are using is a very basic model that doesn't have any digital in's ...only outs. As far as I know, there aren't any convertor devices that cost less than buying a traditional Digital surround reciever. On the plus side... Christmas is right around the corner, right?
