Kenmore He2 washing machine washer drain problem fixed

F21 on the tech sheet says Long Drain If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valve turns off.
NOTE: After 4 mins the "Sd" error will be displayed then 4 mins later the f/21 error code will be displayed.
Press Stop two times to clear the display.

(Solutions:) Check drain hose
unplug washer and check electrical connections at pump
Check filter for foreign objects
If these fail it says to replace pump.

Based on your post I understand you have a "F21" error problem with a Kenmore washer, the error on these units bult by Whirlpool (such as yours) means an excessive drain time or excessive suds was detected as you may or may not already know.

F21 error code is displayed when the washer is unable to drain, press PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the display. After this please check the drain hose and drain pump filter for any blockages and make sure it is not clogged with foreign particles. You can also check the drain pump to verify that its working. "F21" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:


1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.


If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

It means you have a drain problem. It could be a pressure switch or the drain filter plugged.
