i am having the same problem. I cannot send any sms. I can receive sms, and the other like mms etc. too. Just sending sms won't work. The message centre number is set corrently and i also have got the latest firmware installed. And still. No sending.
Does anybody has an idea what it could be? Or did anybody had the same problem and has is fixed now?
Any help is very much appreciated.

Assuming it is an iPhone, Go to Settings > Go to SMS Settings > Send an SMS (ON)
If it is any other device you still want to go to settings and go to SMS settings and then check whether your SMS send settings are on or off. if they are off then turn them ON. hope this helps. Good luck.

For this please check if for the network issue buy sending a PIN to PIN message if you are able to send a PIN to PIN message then the network is fine if you are still getting red X the contact your service provider so that they raise a service request to the network team.
take out your battery, sim and memory stick..
then turn it off for 5 minutes, then turn in on without inserting the memory stick.
after that try sending sms again, if it delivered,then try it with memory stick.
if u can send sms,then its ok..but if cant then your memory sticks got a problem.my suggestion is to format the memory stick..
Do you want to sent mms/sms. for sending mms you need to suscribe from your operator and save mms settings on your mobile.
For sms check your message center number with your network provider and input the number in your message setting option.
Not enough memory means your phone is too full of data IE. Pics, Themes, Contacts, Applications, Games, Old leftover files from sending via Bluetooth etc...
Do a clean up job. Get rid of all the trash.
The phone needs a certain amount of memory to function.
The settings are all different, Internet, Wap etc... for MMS you need to call your service provider and ask them to send you the MMS settings, they are sent via a txt msg, when you receive them click Save or Install.
MMS doesn't work between all networks.
