No display and LED green blinking, the same problem happened with my LG 700E 17" monitor too. By these solution I changed 2 capacitors of 1000uF 10V, & 16V with same ratings. After this relay and display started with the message check cable, BUT WHEN CONNECTED TO CPU IT AGAIN IN THE SAME STATE WITH NO DISPLAY AND LED BLINKING....next what, should I change 220uF 450V capacitor also or something else is there to do. Thanks for this place for good Ideas.

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

I have viewsonic va1912w.i changed all capacitor but black light on one second and goes black...same happening continues...i changed also 100uf 400v..but i used 1000uf 16v instead of 1000uf 10v..please...

This is an LCD display, not a LED one. The fluorescent backlight has probably failed on the unit. Replacement is possible, but purchasing a new, LED display would be more cost effective.

I have viewsonic va1912, when i plug it to my main outlet the led lgiht turns blinking green.... I already replaced some capacitors, 2200uF 10V, 1000uF 25V, 1000uF 10V, 220uF 25V but the still the same,...

What DC voltgae are you getting on the 10vdc rating caps, it should be 5vdc, and 12_18vdc on the 25vdc rating caps. You should check with the load such as 12v 1157 carbulb but do not hit the power button (make sure the power is off, the power supply is always running without the power switch activated) because we want to see if it will maitain 12v with external load not with the inverter circuits.

Green light flickering & Sunset red screen display.

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.

I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.
