Symphonic SC3919 Just got it and can't get anything but snow. The channel setup doesn't work and each channel number is pink and needs to be aqua. We try changing it and it doesn't work. How do we switch from TV to VCR or vice-versa? There is no name on the remote that came with it. There ia a button on the remote that says T-prog clear and under it it says counter reset. We are hooked up to cable.

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in using the Universal Remote control with some recorder. The real problem with the Comcast remote is that there is no other brand, it's not like a Sony remote that's relabeled or anything. Fortunately, Google helps again, and it turns out Comcast has a page online about programming the Comcast remote control.

1. Find the code or codes for your TV from Comcast's list [PDF]
2. Turn your TV on
3. On the remote, press and release the TV key on the very top of the remote.
4. Press and hold the Setup key, until the "TV" key flashes twice, then release the "Setup" key.
5. Using the number pad, enter in the first 4-digit code found next to your television brand on the chart. If you do this correctly the "TV" key will flash twice. Now it's programmed!
6. Now point the remote at your TV and press the Power key. If the TV turns off, you're golden. If not, try again with the next code on the list.

I think, after you have the rca jacks inserted into the tv and to the game you're playing, youshould be able to move the channel button down past channels 3 and 2. And or hit menu on the tv and look for setup. Try that!

Sounds like your TV has lost the DVD channel. Turn off TV and make sure the DVD player is connected to TV and is playing a DVD. Now put you TV on and press the SOURCE or AV button on your TV remote until you can see the DVD channel. In older TVs you may need select channel and tune it manually using the TV setup.

I suspect your tv has gone back to air and should be in cable mode; you will have to go into menu where channel programming takes place. Select cable and autoprogram; it should pick up the missing channels.

On the TV itself, press the MENU button. When the menu opens, "PICTURE" should be highlighted in pink and the rest of the menu items will be an aqua color. That means you are in the right place....Press the volume "up" button... this will open up the Picture menu items. When the menu opens, start pressing the channel "up" button. You will see (bright, color, etc.) options in this menu. Keep pressing the channel up button until you see "Game Mode"... the options will be ON and OFF. Use the volume "up" and/or "down" buttons to toggle back and forth between ON and OFF... if you want to watch TV, be sure to turn the Game Mode OFF... otherwise the picture will be VERY dark...
