I cannot adjust the audio on lifecam vx 3000. On the webcam window it does not allow me to click on audio/visual settings. On the windows messenger window it does not allow me to adjust the microphone. When I adjust the slide bar it just goes back to the left. There was no prompt to test the audio on installation and I already tried reinstalling the software. Any help would be appreciated!

I am new to using a web cam. I purchased the VX6000 and everything is working, however, the people I talk to on it only see static pictures of me (Skype).

I think what they are seeing is the photo you took with your webcam when you set up your account.
Make sure your webcam is is working OK and then check your settings

  1. Start Skype.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings.
  4. Select your LifeCam device as the default microphone. For example, select Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000.

  6. Select your LifeCam device as the default Webcam. For example, select Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Test LifeCam by making a Skype test call.

Microsoft vx-3000 won't work on MSN!!

What you can do is click the Sound Icon beside the Nudge Button. It might bring up a window titled "Set up Audio and Video - Speaker/Microphone or Speakerphone" the Microsoft Vx-3000 has a microphone built in, so you can change your audio settings to "Microsoft Vx-3000" , then click next. The next one is Webcam. You can change the default settings to Microsot vx-3000.

If you've tried changing your settings for MSN before, then I'm not sure. This is the clever way for me :P

Once disconnected Lifecam works only after restarting the comp

do a cam/mic test in the audio/video settings in the tools tab in yahoo. Then you need to minimise the yahoo screen and right click on the cam icon in the taskbar and check that the mic and cam are enabled and that it is set to allow other programes to take control of this device
