Recovery wizard error codes 10-fc12-048f and 10fc12-0037

Windows files has been corrupted, or the hard drive has issues. This is where a backup recovery disc would be ideal, this would prove hardware issues. At this point have the hard drive tested for errors and bad sectors to see if replacement is required.

Toshiba L305-S5933 My laptop just wont start up. I left it over night to download some movies, and the next morning, when i try to wake up the screen, it would display anything, but the computer was...

Blue screen should give an error number- if it will still start that far.
That error code would help you -just search on-line for the error number, but see Microsofts answers, not to get a dodgy answer.
I believe the L305 is a Vista base laptop (unless updated).
There are a few things you can try-

If system restore did not work, it is possible the hard drive has a faulty segment-
If you have a vista cd, you can try command prompt from there (scroll down the page to see it) and in command prompt window- type 9apparently 32 bit vista recovery iso is available here
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/15074/Recovery-CD-for-Windows-Vista-
chkdsk /f/r then press enter button-when finished type in EXIT, and the window will close.
This will then check and fix any disc errors
If it still refuses to boot- Go to command prompt, and type in
bootrec.exe /FixBoot
For more instruction on this go to
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/927392/use-bootrec.exe-in-the-windows-re-to-troubleshoot-startup-issues
First the ram- Try removing one at a time, and see if that will work-or, change the ram, or, try the ram in different slot, one at a time.

After using recovery disks for toshiba laptop satellite l305d i get error message 10-fa12-045d, please help??

Toshiba recovery error seem likely to be due to a failing/failed HDD. If your laptop is in warranty then visit Toshiba service center. Otherwise try this--------> I would like you to try checking the HDD with an error checking program from floppy or CD or with the drive removed from the laptop and tried in a USB external enclosure in another PC.

If the HDD itself is made by Toshiba (which seems likely) you would need a generic testing program since Toshiba don't provide their own HDD checking program.

HDTune can be used from another PC.

My uncles HDD died on his toshiba L45. He purchased a 350gb 7200rmp replacement drive hoping that the recovery discs would still work w/ a different HDD. Now when we try to restore it gives us an I/O error...

It should work with the hard drive. If its a SATA drive you may need to change the drive info in the bios to Compatability mode for it to finish the restore process.

Crashed error 03-FFFF-OOOO

if that error occurs while attempting the recovery, typically it indicates a read write error on the hard drive. replace the hard drive and see if the recovery finishes.

(although i have only seen this problem with failing hard drives)

Brand new laptop

You're going to have to restart the install with your recovery disk. It probably didn't properly finish writing to the hard disk and is failing due to a read error on the file it was working on at the time.

Try using the disc and restarting the entire process. :)

Recovery Error

Do recovery again, when it asks you to insert disc 2, take out disc one and close the tray. Do not put the disc 2 yet. If you can see the error message again, then it is a RAM issue. You need to reseat the Memory module and try to do the recovery again.

If you closed the tray then no error message came up, it would be an issue with your recovery disc and order for a new one. You can contact Toshiba to have the recovery replaced due to corrupt media.

Hope this helps.
