The repair of this problem will be near to or exceed the cost to replace it with a new flat screen. With TV prices at an all time low due to slack demand it is not cost conscious to repair it.

I've had a rca model l32hd31yx12 and recently began to get white vertical lines after a minute they fade but certain screen changes like volume adjustments and the lines come back and fade again same thing...

Sounds like the power supply has filtering issues, in other words bad capacitors. its best to have a tv shop take a look at it. they shouldn't charge you. good luck

After a while their was a white line that appeared on the screen and now we cant watch TV. We can hear sound and everything but the only thing we can see is a bright white line

Your vertical IC may have bad grounds. Resolder the pins on the vertical IC. You will also need to replace a capacitor or two that are located next or very near the vertical IC. I would guess you are concerned about a horizontal line that runs east to west across the screen. The info just mentioned will fix your problem. Give me a few hands and thanks for asking me!

I have a 1993 36 inch RCA, model # P46151WK. TV was on and suddenly heard something pop and it started to smell like something burned inside. It wont turn on anymore.

You may have a fried horizontal output transistor and a defective flyback transformer. If indeed this set is 17 years old.......cheaper to replace him...sorry!

RCA F32650 32" White lines with hazy white flickering

Absolutely right about the transistor and also check any adjacent resistors to the transformer and to the line output transistor. Good luck.

RCA TELEVISION

Heres the fix for your set, replace the following 2 parts:

1) flyback transformer RCA part number 257805
2) horizontal output transistor RCA part number 237470
you must be proficient at soldering & un-soldering or you can`t replace these yourself, be advised that the anode lead coming from the top of the flyback transformer can carry a VERY NASTY shock if not discharged properly before trying to remove it from the picture tube, I`d strongly advise you to call a tech unless your familiar with this type of repair, BMW Rider
