Just push the clean button, it will superheat the oven for an extended period, burning off old residue.

I have lost my book, and need to use the self cleaning oven feature. What is the process?

The oven should have a self cleang button, just remove the oven racks, because the heat will turn the shinny racks to a dull shine, and press the self cleaning button, it will go through the cleaning cycle, the cycle takes about 3-1/2 - 4 hours

Self Cleaning Oven help

It should run with you setting anything but clean. You can obtain a copy of the owners manual from the maytag site or by googling your maytag appliance model number.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR APPLIANCE before beginning any service procedure.
You would have to contact the Maytag factory for a new owner’s manual and make sure you give them your model # and serial # in order to get the right one, I have listed some information below for your convenience. There are new products in the market that do clean self cleaning ovens that do NOT harm the actual self cleaning process, but check with the factory so that it does not void your factory warranty. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local appliance dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Self cleaning MAytag Gemini GAS oven

A wonderful feature is that the ovens self-clean with the press of a few buttons. Only one oven can be programmed to self-clean at a time. Remove the oven racks. Turn off the oven light and close the door. Press the "Clean" button and then press "Auto Set" to automatically clean the oven for 3 hours. Press the "Auto Set" pad again to set the oven for a 4-hour clean cycle, or press the button one more time for a 2-hour cleaning. The oven locks when in cleaning mode. When the oven is finished cleaning, the word "Cleaned" will be displayed on the control panel, and the oven will remain locked until the oven has cooled, which takes about an hour. To cancel the self-clean cycle, just press the "Cancel" button. Simple!
