I had a carb problem and removed and cleaned it, when I replaced it and started the gen it ran fine but the gov didn.t work and would run at open throttle and the gen didn,t charge .I checked all the breakers and fuse. I can,t think of a reason why removing the carb would cause the generator not to charge.
If the govenor didn't work that means that you placed the linkage on the carberator the wrong way. This will cause the genset to overspeed and possibly stop the genset from creating voltage. If the genset does not create voltage then you won't have a charger. Fix the linkage first by looking to make sure that the throttle plate is closed before starting genset. Once you start the genset check for voltage.
