Dies even with partial battery life

My Sansa has been turning off even though the battery is 3/4 full. I've gone through 3 batteries in the past week even though I've only listened to 5hrs of music and they weren't dead yet. I've reformatted my MP3 player because of problems downloading songs, which were fixed, but it has done nothing for this current problem. Any suggestions?

I stored my insignia picture frame in a drawer for a long time. When I brought it out to use it, it would not turn on or connect to my computer with the usb.

When the battery and the backup battery are gone, the picture frame may take 15 minutes to even show sign of life. If after more than 20 minutes without life, then you will probably have to change the backup bettery - probably a 3 volt-button bettery.

Sir am using acer 4736 model. past 2 weeks it has some problem wit battery life..though i charge it 100% backup is very less nd also in the battery icon it says 'consider replacing ur battery'.could u plz...

Maybe the life of the battery is almost exhausted. If the battery is charged everytime the laptop is used it will gradually decay in life and energy storage. They are best emptied and then recharged at least once a month. That will help to keep the life of the battery extended as long as possible.

It is probably your alternator. I would have it tested before I do anything else to your vehicle.

Phone dies after only texting maybe three or four times even though it was just taken off the charger.

How old is the phone? These kinds of batteries need to be handled with care. Meaning, for the battery life to be high, you must fully charge phone, then use the phone till the battery is dead, then fully charge again. Do not charge if there is still juice in the battery and do not take off charger after only partially charging the phone. This will help maintain the life of the battery.

Battery does not charge

Will the old battery (that you are replacing) charge up at all? If the old battery charges but the new battery will not, then it's likely a bad replacement battery.

To rule out the possibility of a corrupted battery meter inside of windows, you may wish to leave the laptop on battery power only, until it dies. A 5% charge will usually only grant you about 20 minutes of laptop life maximum. Since you left it charging all night, you should get a few hours of life before it dies. If you get a few hours of life, the battery meter software is corrupted.

Most likely though, the replacement battery is bad.

Under a full charge the mp3 shows only 1/2 charge3d

I have over 10 years experience in electronic tech support.

How long is the charge lasting? If you're only getting half of the battery life you use to get, then the unit needs to be repaired. I can do more research into your model, but normally there isn't a way to change the battery charge display. Please let me know if you're still getting full battery life even though the display is only showing half.

I'll use the information you provide to assist you further. I look forward to hearing from you.

Can't get any power running on my 5500 hr life cycle

Change the battery. It is a 9v battery behind the small door on the back of the display panel.

Sansa e250

i know i have to charge my sansa for at least 7-8 hours before the battery will show it is full. about your other problem, i believe there is an option under the settings menu to automatically shut your sansa off. If not then you can turn off the backlight and that will save alot of battery life.

Screen says battery is full, but wont turn on

I read somewhere that even with a functional lyra, when it displays "battery full", you should keep charging for another hour. This is said to extend battery life and give you an extra 2-3 hours of power. Either this is perfectly normal, or it indicates that the battery reading tends to be inaccurate. In any case, try leaving it charging even after it gives you the message. Another thing to consider is, how long has it been in the box? I'm not sure about lithiums, but most rechargeables I know live longer when used. Live it alone for too long and you shorten it's life. Could be good to get a second opinion on this battery thing though. If there's a warranty, don't let it waste. Good luck
