Have been told there are no parts available. has Sony stopped manufacturing the replacement CCD's?

  • Anonymous Feb 11, 2009

my A1 (USA) has been in a good case not being used for about 4 plus years. I've checked it a couple of times during that time, band it was fine, but I never relaly used it. A couple of days ago, I took it out to use in a class and I was having this problem. I tried the sony test referred to somewhere in this blog (help I can't find it again!) and noted that the date, at least for Sony cameras, has been extended to March 2009. But when I did the test and followed the instructins it would not recognize my model number and when However the sony repair page does say that for a flat rate of 211.00 I can send it to them for repair . Is there a way to get the free reprir for my A!?

Don't let the deadline scare you away. I sent my Dimage in for repair in late April 2008 and Sony fixed it good as new.

I got the same problem back in December of 2006 (9 months ago). Since then, the camara has been on the shelf inside its case. Of course, I've been thinking about when to send it for repair or just buy a new camera. Just today, I got in the mail a letter from Monolta informing me of a class action lawsuit involving the DiMage A1 cameras. The problem is related to faulty CCD sensor creating the problem of a distorted image on the LCD and viewfinder. They will repair it or reimburse any repairs you may have already done or a reimbursement if you bought a new camara as a replacement. Replacements have a limit of up to $206. Go to http://ca.konicaminolta.com/ccdsettlemen... for more info on the lawsuit. There is also a link to a site to start the repair part. There is a deadline to apply for the repair which is three years from the time of purchase or March 31, 2008. RicoE

When i power the camera no menu appear in each mode in vcr it say set 1 and that is no view in the viewer its just dark

This could be either a bad viewfinder or a bad CCD image sensor. Neither of these are user serviceable and will require repair by a qualified repair shop.

No image on the viewer; no image being recorded.

If your Canon A80 camera shows previously stored images of memory card in playback mode but does not show live view in camera mode to take fresh picture then ccd imager chip got defective and need to be replaced.
Local camera repair shop will help you to replace ccd imager chip because camera will take apart in detail and soldering work is needed.
Thanks.

How to enlarge pictures using an hp 1210 scanner

It's possible there's a scan setting in the HP director that would do it, but I don't remember one.
Scan the image to a folder on your computer. Then use most standard image viewer software to "resize" the image.
For example, if you have the HP photo and image gallery software installed, you'd use the image editor to resize the image. (See screenshot here.)
A good free image viewer that has this capacity, among many others, is Fastone Image Viewer, available here. In that case, you use the Edit menu.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

when you plug yourphone to the computer you should have two extra drives open up.one will be your phone one will be your memory card. you have to find the photos or fmy photos older, you must have them in the correct folder. when you go to your image viewer, make sure it is set up to either look in the folder for your phone or memory card depending on which folder you put the pictures in.

Blurred Images/ Photos

Check out the Fiji Tech support team. Depending on the age of the camera there may be a swap out option. Independent repair will not be an economic prop.

No images

Look in Explorer at the .jpg files on your card to make sure they have information in each file. Next, make sure your software is set to view .jpg files,i.e. Faststone Image viewer (download.com) can be set for virtually any image format. If you viewed the images on the lcd monitor they were on the card at that time. Make sure you haven't somehow protected those image files or have accidentally reformatted it.
