You need to press the menu button, then select the last icon along the top of the screen, then select the 3rd selection down, then select English! Hope this helps!
Press [MENU/SET] to display the menu. Press cursor-left, use cursor-up/down to select the wrench icon, then press cursor-right. Use cursor-up/down to select the speech bubble icon.

Try this; Display Camera Menu, Select #6 (OTHER FUNCTIONS) Jog to the last Item on page 2 (HOUR METER) rotate the dial up 3 positions from HM and press the dial. You should now have the choice to Select Language: English or Japanese. Worked for me.
