I bought an external lg dvd re writer about 4 month ago,,but i have recently bought a new laptop, with vista,,but it wont except the software for the driver,,can you please help.
Well you need to go to the website of the DVD manufacture and get the vista drivers for your device.
Vista does not have native support for most hardware, and very little backwards compatability.
I wish you success on finding the correct driver for your device.
Thank you,

If you just want to use the LG external drive, then it will work with your new laptop (I presume it is a USB external drive). You don't need any installation software, because your new laptop will detect it and install the driver automatically.
Sounds to me your trying to do what i did and did not work. the issue is the netbook is not compatable with this method you need a netbook compatable External unit is what i suggest, if there are any experts that have diffrent advice I welcome it as well. But I tryed what your doing in fact i went out and bought a external unit because of this fact, the issue is compatability.
Yes you can use a usb external cd/dvd-rom to any operating system as long as the bios allows you to, most bios's have the capability.
When the external usb drive has been connected power up the mechine, in post it should tell what to press to enter your boot menu without entering your bios and choose usb drive to boot.
do you have a drive for your external hard drive when you bought it? windows vista is very delicate operating system. some manifacture products can't not be recognized by windows vista.
Your Acerf C110TCI will not succesfully run Vista. It does not meat the minimum requierments. It may load, but you won't like it. Stay with XP and SP3, it will be much better.
Thanks
Brian
You would be able to boot from the external drive but you will not be able to run an operating system from it. It would allow you to install another operating system if that is what you mean? If i understand you correctly though, you would like to say perhaps, have windows xp on your laptop and maybe run windows vista on your external? Maybe get to choose which one to run. This is not possible. Sorry. I hope this helps!
