1.write the filename along with address path from the error message and exit tally
1. go to the program source directory where tally72.exe is located
2. open 'tally configuration settings' file & check the data where the companies are stored
3.go to that location where companies are stored, now locate the folder containing the corrupted file.
4. move (cut-paste ctrl-x) that folder to some another location
5. now start tally7.2
6. go to select company switch to tally comapnies folder
7. restore now the moved folder to its original location and switch to tally
8. now press Ctrl-Alt-R
9. press Y for rewrite
10. you will get your desired company

on the main screen i presses ctrl + alt + R

then selected the corrupted file to recover

if u have tally software which is ur instaled in your computer. again install the previous operating system in other drive like "D" & "E". then recover the drive "C" by using "recuva recovery software". then find the your tally files and save it in another place like "DVD" disk.
then install your tally software and use it . all the best my frnd.

It may be due to some tally related system file might have got corrupted.
You can rectify the problem by reinstalling tally software as this will fix the corrupt files. but before that copy the data folder to a safe location to backup your tally data.

I m uing tally 7.2 rel.3 beta version... i lost my company data from pandrive.. i got it back after recovering it.. but when i pur it into the data folder and open tally 7.2 i could not see my company in...
Usually the recoverable data from a deleted or formated hard drive or a pen drive does not work, only the wallpapers and text files work completely other files of 5mb 10mb like exe, video or any data files does not work because they become corrupted. Therefore your software can't recognize your data because they are internally corrupted. So, there is no way to recover 100% correct files. But you must try to recover data using
"Recover My Files" software or "Virtual Lab"..but chances r very less.

Sir,


There is no option to recover the password. But there is simple steps to recovor the data... try it

Lets understand some feature and working of tally. Tally provides a backup and restore utility which collects all files of tally company into one file named tbk500.001. This way of tally backup is easier to restore as this one file can be kept save and easily can be restored instead of all files in that folder. If any of the file gets missing or gets corrupted tally data wouldn't work.
In first case when data gets corrupted while working on tally and we are unable to open the company then data can simply rewritten. Come to Company selection menu. Press "Ctrl + Alt + R". Now select the company for re writing. 90% chance is that you problem would be get solved.
