TV output? Do you mean the audio coming in from the TV?

Have you looked at the manual and assigned each digital input to the appropriate device? What other devices are involved and have you tried moving it/them among the working/non working digital inputs?

Page 21 talks about assigning the optical digital audio inputs.

Check for a bad ground on the input circuit board. you will need to re-solder them. Remove top cover and rear panel (many screws on rear panel) The input board can easily be accessed and resoldered. you should also check for a bad ground on the speaker jacks. If it is not repaired, sooner or later you will probably need an output IC. good luck.

Aside from any intrinsic problem with your receiver, the usual suspects are;
1) Poor receiver ventilation. 2) Very high levels of bass. 3) Shorts in the speaker wiring. 4) A rubbing loudspeaker voice coil.

I have your solution! We were having trouble with this too. As you may have known, the Pioneer AXD7248 came with a receiver, the Pioneer VSX-D409 / VSX-D509S. is this the subwoofer pre out ? and is it amplified after comming out of the reciever sub pre out? also is it turned on in the surround options?

Pioneer VSX-D509S A/V Receiver Owner's Manual contains Instructions and codes. 509S remote in the manual is the same as AXD7248. Learning mode also allows you to program multiple remotes into a single Multi Control Key. I successfully programmed keys from both DVD-R and TV remotes in the 7248 DVD Control.
