I purchased yamaha rep. demo boat 2008 which had not run since last year. Port engine would not start final started. Pulled out of water and put battery charger on and finally got both to run, put back in water and they ran good for about 3min got up to about 40mph and noticed middle light coming on in tack it looks like cooling temp or oil temp. light I reached outand touched water coming out of boat it was medium warm, inabout another minute engines started shuting down so I headed right back for dock. Sat for about 20min. tried engines they fired up took off thought problem was solved no lights coming on then in 3minutes both light one on each tach come on and within 1 min boat starts shuting down again throttle only going 3/4 thats it head for dock take home and flush out for 10min each motor with water hose 4000rpm no lights come on after ten minutes of runningt with hose on. It acts like might be ok but I dont belierve it. Can You help disapointed boater. My son had same boat 0 break downs in 2 years.
With the newer yamaha jet boats your route of easiest resistance is gonna be to take the boat to a Yam dealer so they can put a diagnostic machine on it. Alot of sensor problems can be solved much easier and cheaper after running the diagnostic and pinpointing exactly what the issue is. The lights on the dash are for high temp and low oil. If you checked the water temp and it seemed ok, check your oil levels.
I have a AR230 Yamaha and the right engine is putting out about 80% thrust. After tubbing with my boy's on Sunday. Any idea's what the problem can be?
