This is more complicated than can be taken care of here w/out many pics and diagrams......This is a simple fix for a bikeshop...they do it all day long and they won't charge much...better have them adjust your gears too while they're at it cause that's required after cable change....they can do it while you wait in most cases...probably 5-10 dollar job....good luck to you friend....Tim

Removing manual window winder to get door panel off to fix door lock. Old Toyota Rav 4.

there is a tool available from a auto parts store to remove the handle
it is a flat section piece of steel strap that has a a square section cut out of the end
place the tool under the handle and push it between the handle and the plastic wear washer for the trim
push it forward and it expands a "C" clip that holds the handle on the shaft
full the handle off
before refitting the handle push the clip back into place and then just push the handle back on the shaft till it clicks

How to replace a power cord to a saw

Remove the switch handle cover and you should be able to see all the connections and wires going to and from the switch. Undo the clamp at the cable entry area of the handle. Mark or note which way the live (brown/black) and neutral (blue) wire go into the switch. Wire in the new cable, refit the clamp and put the handle cover back on. Fit a plug on the other end of the cable and you should be good to go. Always carefully check the saw functions properly before using it again.

My rotary hammer just work when I am not makin holes. When I point it down the motor stops.. Would you help me?

Sounds like a broken cable. Unplug the drill. Take handle cover off and remove the mains cable. Pull on Ithaca wires separately and you will probably fine one or both comes out. Cut back the cable and refit.

I have a fs 55 stihl weedeater I had it on my fourwheeler and hit a tree with the shaft it broke the trigger release button and caused the trigger to pop out i could still use it until I attempted to put...

in the trigger handle there is a cable that attaches to the throttle. This cable has a ball end (just like a bicycle brake cable). You have probably popped it out when you refitted the lever. split the handle and refit to trigger

18 gears on bike, 1-6 ok hi to low faulty ie 2,.3 ok is get down to 1 witch is the lowest will not go all the time

Gday thisis usually an easy fix.

firstly i would clean and lubricate the derailuers (sounds like the front one is the problem) then once its clean and moving freely set the rear derailuer into gear 3 or 4 and the fromt derailuer into the middle cog (ie the chain should be on those cogs) then adjust your cable to remove slacknes but not so tight as to move the derailuers. Hopefully this will solve your problem
Good Luck.

3rd Di2 install and first 2 worked perfectly. On this bike when on big ring big cassette (23) get pretty good chain rub on front derailuer. Have tried setting tail of derailuer in more than usual and...

Derailleurs are mass-produced and are essentially identical to each other, so unless damaged it's unlikely to be the derailleur. A sticky cable could keep the derailleur from trimming properly. It also can lead you to think it's tight enough when it is not. Otherwise it's hard to diagnose remotely. Derailleur must be both at proper angle and height to shift well, cable both move freely and be at proper "tension."

Ryobi SS30 Trimmer. Need to rewind pull cord. I already have the housing off. Need to know the next step in removing clutch assembly.

cut handle off,let spring unwind.remove piece that stops pulley from coming off, then take pulley off, should leave spring intact.dont touch the spring, hell of a job to refit..bolt holding clutch assembly is usually left hand thread.usually two springs holding the two small brake shoes.reasonably easy to go from there

I need the long piece what goes between the back brake caliper and the brake pedal but dont know where to find 1 and dont know what the piece is called.any ideas would be great.thanks

this is usally called the "rear break cable" it comprises of a thin steel braided cable which is visible at the brake caliper end and is shethed in a fexible outer sleve.
it is possible to replace the rear brake cable without having to change the flexible outer.

How to take off inner panel fo an 85 land cruiser?

look behind the winder handle and their is a spring horseshoe shape clip on the back of the handle between the actual handle and the round plastic trim which sits against the door panel .Bent small screwdriver or piece of bailing wire with end bent over is ideal .Watch where it goes when you pull it off ??they fly very well.To refit just put it in the groove and push the winder on
