My Dell A920 Inkjet Printer will not recognize my color cartridge which is brand new?

Is it a Dell cartridge or a generic cartridge? No-name cartridges sometimes lack the chip which the printer looks for. Return the cartridge for an exchange.

The flashing LED is the diagnostic. Just found this partial fix: "Try removing the color cartridge and try printing with the color cartridge out. If it gives you a message that the cartridge is missing, it will still allow you to print by clicking "continue". And from there, it will allow you to print black. I think it really is a problem with your color cartridge." From searching the net, this seems to be a major problem with no solution from Dell!

Sometimes this happens with most printers i advice that you get hold of this software..called Virtual Printer it takes care of many of the printer problems...It wil really save you lot of time and hair!Atleast  it woked for all of my 2 printers till now..

Replaced B/W & color cartridges. Display indicates "color cartridge missing".

SOURCE: Color printer won't print color

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

My Dell A920 prints blank paper.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Installed new ink cartridges and the color works but the black does not

Perform a print head clean in printer software. OR if a tricolour cartridge most probably empty as its the most often used.

My Dell A920 printer will not print the color blue. I've replaced the ink, 2 times. Changed the quality of print to "Best" and still get only the reds & yellows... Any ideas?

-try the old cartridge if it will print the correct colour; the problem is the cartridge; otherwise it is the printer.

Will not print in color

hi there,
try to access the dell all in one center. there's a link there that says maintenance. there's an option that says clean to fix horizontal streaks.
then try to print again.
if still same. try to remove the color ink. remove the power cable of the printer. using a clean cloth, wipe the contacts of the copper strip inside the color cartridge carrier where you put the color cartridge. also clean the copper strip of the color cartridge.
then try to print again.
if still same. try to uninstall/reinstall the printer driver.
if still same. 3 points of failure
1. cartridge problem again. most probably bad cartridge batch 2. printer driver issue. 3. printer itself.

Dell 926 won't recognize new color cartridge

Try this...shut down the printer. Insert new cartridge, let the printer cycle out with new cartridge. then reboot the computer. This should solve the problem. The cache in the printer will not cycle out. It wants to see the printer as a new entity

is there any more colour ink inside? if there is ink inside you just have to open your printers properties dialog and look for a color option that uses black only. 2. see if the colors are blocked
