Motrola 6200 fllashing hunt and when i reset i get E609, according to customer service that provided me with this box, they say the box is diffective and that something is wrong internaly, i'm a cable technician myself and after every test known to us my cable is new, minimum resitance im getteing great levels to my box. i have to beleve custumer service at this point and swaped the box, softboot(unplug power) and hardboot(unplug power while holding down power+select and while still holding the two buttons plug in power and wait till the front of the disply to blink 0000 usualy takes 5seconds after you plug it in, once blinking 0000 release buttons.) after a hardboot you need to call the service provider to re-initialise the box, make sure its not just a zap,(re-initialising means removing the serial number from the account and re-entering it just like the first time its installed) if this does'nt fix it, you need to change it, if it does great. if not you need another box. 90% of the problems issued on motorola 6200,6208,3416 boxes a hard boot will fix, note pvr's and dualtunners will loose saved movies and shows on the harddrive when hardbooted. this will also work in desired conditions, meaning your cable is rg6 cable. not damaged or bent severely, no store splitters, you need a splitter made for digital equipment, meaning there is a electonic board inside, cheap splitters are just sauded together and the communication is not well transfered.. if there is no reason for the cable to have suffered any damage, connectors are properly done, and spitters are provided from the cable company. then its your box.

hope this helps everyone that ever experienced this in the future.

The serial number on your box has to be specific to your region or the cable company can not make it work. If you bought this on-line and/or outside of your region, it just won't work.
I had the same problem.

My Panasonic SC-HT995W keeps on flashing W and the rear speakers wont work. Ive tried turning off all other wireless devices but it still persists

I had exactly the same problem. My unit worked fine until a loose power cable resulted in the receiver being turned on and off a couple of times in quick succession and then after this the a/c in light on the rear speaker was lit but the wireless link light would not come on (and the 'W' on the main unit flashed constantly). The solution for me was basically a reboot. This is what I did;
- unplug the wireless receiver
- unplug the main unit
- remove the digital transceiver unit from its slot in the back of the main unit
- plug the main unit back in and turn it on - the 'W' won't flash as the transceiver has been removed (not sure if you if it's necessary but I made sure it was producing sound to the front speakers)
- unplug the main unit again
- reinsert the digital transceiver
- plug the main unit back in, turn it on and set it to produce output/sound (the 'W' will be flashing)
- then plug the wireless receiver back in again
...presto the link is made, the 'W' stops flashing and the rear speakers work again.

Hope this elaborate reboot works as well for you as it did for me.

My DCT6200 cable box keeps shutting itself off and then turning back on. I have already tried resetting it by unplugging, but that has done nothing. Even after I have turned off the power and left it...

1) have you tried changing that box in that room to another and the box from the other to this room. That may give you an idea of either power or signal strength issue.
2) after it resets does a "dl" show up on the box front. if so it is trying to download a firmware/software update and everythime you power cycle it starts over.
3) turn the box off then hit select and go to option 8. there should be 4 modules enabled.
4) you may need a new box

Cycle selector knob is flashing for all cycles and

After trying the Fixya posted and LG service recommendation of pressing the pause/play button for 5-8 seconds and unplugging the machine for one minute before plugging back in (which didn't work) we unplugged it for over an hour and the computer reboot/reset itself.
