Ok the problem is that ur using a wireless b modem
the wireless b is the shortest of the classes of wireless routers
you should go with a G or N series
this should solve ur isse
the B series is for one room operations then the signal has to go through ur home that is more resistance on the signal
you could also buy a 2wire modem /router at best buy
that covers ur whole property with ur wireless range
but u will pay the same in one router as this 2wire single unit

You can change the maximum signal output of the router or update its firmware. There might be an interference in your location i.e. (glass window, metal door, fish tank and other wireless signals from wireless phones)

How do i reset my siemens gigaset se 572 router

I have only been able to find info for the 555, not the 572. Bit it MAY apply.

See if there is a reset button in the back of the unit. Press and release to reset the router.

Press and hold for 5 seconds and it will reset with everything for the factory defaults.

As I said, this actually pertains to the 555, but it may also work for the 572.

We have a router so that we can have wireless connections in the upstairs of our house. The connection shuts off every 20 min or so. Do you know a solution?

Have you tried moving the computer upstairs to a different place to get the best signal ?
What is the signal strenth?
Have you tried moving the router to a different position?
If your signal strength is quite weak, you may need to get a more powerfull router, like this one http://bestofferbuy.com/2.4GHz-1000mW-High-Power-802.11b/g-WLAN/WiFi/Wireless-Broadband-Router-p-50909.html?currency=GBP&utm_source=gbase&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=gbase
they are about twice as expensive.

I cannot connect wirelessly to a siemens gigaset se 572 router although I can connect with a hard wire. I am using a Netgear WG111T wireless adapter. When I try to repair the connection I am told that the...

Check the type of encryption the 572 is set for, I've found a few cases where it needs to be WPA and not WEP. As a temporary measure, you could switch off wireless security.
Lastly, check your not getting a channel conflict, if a neighbour has a wireless access point with the same channel, you may get problems, which will require logging onto the 572 and changing the wireless channel

Short operating range of wireless router

Hello Peter. I think you may have pinned down the problem within your post. British brick walls can be very solid - and thick - which may well be enough to degrade or block your wireless signal.

The first thing I would try is to move the router to as open and central a position as you can, and see if that helps. Adding a wireless LAN antenna to your router can also help boost a weak signal a little (these just replace an existing antenna on the router).

However, other options you may want to investigate include:

1) using a wireless repeater to boost the signal from your router;
2) a powerline networking system, such as Homeplug ;
3) installing a new router with a more powerful range

..or indeed, abandoning wireless altogether and using a wired connection!

I hope this helps you explore some options, and find a solution.

I just recieved my Siemens Gigaset SE587 WLAN dsl router and i set it up but the only light coming on is the power light,is the router faulty or damaged?

Are all the cables connected correctly?
Are the DSL settings in?

If it's only the power light, and no WLAN, LAN, DSL or Internet lights on, it sounds like it may be faulty. Is it brand new or second hand?
