If the system worked before with three wires then the fan wire(green) must already be jumped to the Y terminal at the furnace. You should be able to run the red wire to Rh and Rc, run the white wire to W and run the yellow wire to Y on the new thermostat. You will not have control of the fan (ON or AUTO) from the thermostat. R is 24v from the furnace, W is the Heating circuit and Y is the Cooling circuit.

SOURCE: I just bought a honeywell

This thermostat will not work for your application. You need a Heat Pump thermostat. A comparable stat would be a Honeywell TH4210D1005

I am trying to install a Honeywell RTH2300B thermostat. I can't get the wiring. I have a red, blue orange, green, yellow, brown and white wire and B, O, G, Y, W, Not Used, R, and RC terminals. Can

what type of system are you wiring it to???? for general info b and o are used if heat pump system, g =fan (blower), Y =cooling (ac), W=heat, R and rc are 24v feed to stat, do not use rc if system does not have cooling. if it does and 24v is from one source then connect fed to r and install jumper between r and rc . you list wire colors you must identify where they are connected at other end.

My terim cooker has 3 wires - black, blue and brown. Do you know which is live, negative and earth?

green or green and yellow is the ground (earth), blue is neutral, black and brown are both lives. this is the standard european wire color code since 2004. If it is older than that, black was used as a neutral, and blue as a live. very confusing.

HONEYWELL RTH5100B , THE WIRES I HAVE ARE BLUE, GREEN , WHITE , YELLOW, BROWN, THE A/C WILL NOT COME ON SHOULD I USE THE BLUE WIRE AND IN WHAT ? RC, R, Y, W, G, THANKS

Hi , you need to make sure rc and r are jumpered together.
R=red
G=green
W=white
Y=yellow

Blue is probably the other side of the transformer (24v) and usually would go on "c" if the thermostat has that particular post. To know for sure where blue goes, trace back to the furnace. Blue will be attached to a marked terminal either on a transformer or a circuit board. Hope this helps you.

I need to replace an old Thermostat that just has 3 wires coloured Red, Blue and Yellow. The Honeywell THR830TUK Thermostat I have bought shows 5 wires on the diagram. I'm not sure which wire goes into...

The honeywell THR830TUK thermostat does not require a neutral as shown in the instructions.Connect the LIVE to terminal "1" and your YELLOW SIGNAL wire to terminal "3".
Connect your EARTH (if you have one) to the EARTH connection on the top left hand corner of the thermostat and blank off your NEUTRAL wire with a block connector.These instructions were supplied to me by Honeywell Customer Support.Hope this helps.

Satchwell cylinderstat has brown, blue and earth (green/yellow) wires. which is te common and which is connected to the orange on a Honeywell V4073A 3 port valve. I presume the green yellow goes to the...

The colour codes are as follows:
Brown = Line / Active
Blue = Return / Neutral
Green/Yellow = Earth / Ground
It is likely that the Brown and Orange would be connected together but not 100% sure.

Changing a room thermostat a potterton to honeywell t6360

I think I've done it - but don't take this as absolute truth.
For the Honeywell T6360B the original Potterton wiring should be rewired as follows:
Brown [Live] goes to terminal 1; Blue [neutral] goes to Terminal 2 and the yellow/green [which is not an earth but a switched live - i.e. gives live to the heating system when the thermostat clicks in] goes to terminal 3.
Obviously all done with the power isolated and when it was switched back on we had heating again :o)
It's been on over two hours now and all seems fine.
