Unlock keyboard not working button

     Open the Acer laptop and turn it on. Allow the user to complete all startup procedures before pressing any buttons on the keyboard.

     Locate the "Windows" button. It is located on the bottom left-hand side of the keyboard and has a dark circle with a little waving flag inside. Locate the "L" button as well.

     Press both buttons at the same time. The laptop keyboard is now unlocked. Test the computer by trying to open a file on the computer. If the keyboard did not unlock, repeat the procedure and be sure to press the buttons at the same time. The keyboard will unlock.
     
     

Hi. Please do troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check to be sure your "Number Lock" or "Function Lock" keys aren't lit. These can lock out certain parts of your keyboard. If either of these is lit, press them to unlock the locked portion of your keyboard. These can be found at the top right on a laptop and between the number pad and main keys on a desktop keyboard.

2. Save all open programs using your mouse. Use your mouse to restart your computer. This will only work if your computer isn't frozen. If your mouse doesn't move, press the power button on your Dell until the computer turns off. Press it again to restart. If the issue was lack of memory or a locked program, this will unlock your keyboard. Continue to Step 3 if the keyboard is still locked.

3. Shut down your computer using your mouse or power button. Don't restart. Unplug your Dell.

4. Remove the battery if you're using a laptop by turning the laptop over and sliding the battery release latch. Slide the battery out and replace after one minute.

Dell Inspiron 530s keyboard unlock
Is the keyboard usb or ps2? If its usb then try another port. If its ps2(Green) then power down the pc by holding in the power button for 8 to 10 seconds. Pull the plug and make sure no pins are bent. Plug it back in and boot back up. This should fix the problem if its ps2. Regards

try blowing out the dust and particles from under the keys. Are you in NumLock, if so hold the "fn" button down and press your F11or which ever F key says NumLk on it , that should unlock the keyboard. Depending on the age of the unit it is possible that it just may need replacing.

Just hold down Fn then press F7 or F8 keys to unlock keyboard.

Steps to unlock HP laptop keyboard.

1. Turn off the computer
2. Remove the battery.
3. While the battery is out, hold the power button for about 30 secs
4. Put back the battery
5. Turn back on the computer and it should be good to go.

hit the reset button on the wireless receiver (oval button)

It sounds just like a keyboard lock and you need the code to unlock it. though it should be prompting you,

if you push * and # on the same time your keyboard locked. When you press it again, you unlock your keyboard

On another thread i found the solution:

[Ctrl]-[Alt]-[F12] (must use the left [Ctrl]-[Alt] keys, not the right)
Push the Connect button beneath the keyboard, then the Connect button on the USB Receiver, then the [Esc] key on the keyboard.

This will unlock the security encryption on the keyboard. You may need to reconnect the mouse afterward too.

Hi There If youyr lights above the Num Lock Button are on then i would serggest you try unplugging your key board and restsrting your PC when the PC pings the replace your keyboard and check that the lights are working by pressing the Num Lock Button this should let you use the numbers hope this works Paddy
