Our dryer just started acting up. Never had a problem with it(electric) and then today it all of a sudden would run for about a minute and then shuts off. Then in the display window E68 shows up. I hit the cancel button and it runs again for a few seconds and then does the same thing. I have tried reseting the circuit breaker and didn't fix the problem. Is the E68 and error code? If it is help figuring it out. Thanks TLJ
I have a totally unrelated solution. Remove your lint filter. Now remove the waffled plastic that covers the lint filter slot. Hint, its inside the dryer, and there's two screws holding it in. Be careful, because there's two wires connected to the metal strip on the bottom edge of it. That metal strip is either the temperature or moisture sensor, I bet. Don't drop the screws into the lint filter slot. If yours is like mine, you'll find that a lot of lint has built up around the contacts for those two wires. Carefully clean all the lint, and reinstall. While you have it opened up, stick your vacuum's crevice tool down inside the lint filter slot and clean up all the lint in there as best you can. Problem solved. I think the build of of lint was shorting the two contacts, and this was screwing up the electronics.
I had the E68 issue with my dryer and after jiggling all the buttons to ensure none were stuck. I noticed that when the E68 error was occurring, in addition to the beeping, I also heard a faint crackling sound (like barely audible static when I put my ear close to the control panel) I proceeded to take the control panel apart to expose the control board. When I exposed the board, I notice a very light dusting of what I assume was lint. I used a soft brush to gently brush the entire board off. When I plugged the board back in and put the control panel back together, the dryer worked like new! Glad I took a chance and saved myself $185+ for a new board. Hope this suggestion can help others.
Thanks a million. Worked great. thanks for taking the time to put up your solution.
You can also just use Compressed Air Duster in a can to get the same results. Just make sure you get the straw in between the button area as best as possible and spray for about 2 minutes or so. It worked like a charm for me!

Close/ Slam Dryer Door Shut Harder than Usual. (The Door Sensor Might be getting a little worn).
Error 68 problem as well!-------I will try cleaning the area mentioned above.
I had two service calls during the 2 year warranty...vaious problemswith the dyer. Belt and door lock sensor problems. I had 2 service calls for the washer! HATE THIS DRYER AND MATCHING WASHER! I replaced a perfectly good HUGE w/d so I could save money/water and conserve energy. The repair visits and time I spent WAITING for them and missing work have canceled out any savings. Not to mention the trips I took to the laundromat! ALL DAY and spent over 50.00 for the washer and dryer use. Now I have a new problem! Error 68. The dryer doesn't work! The washer smells musty and I found the product to clean and rinse th e system. EXPENSIVE! My clothes are not getting clean and they are SOOOOOO wrinlked. fit more clothes in my 1994 units! Saved water that way!... I would love to have my old top load washer back. SORRY FOR THE VERBAL LASHING but this is my WARNING to anyone wo may be considering these similar units in the near future. To top it off, We purcheased a FRIGIDAIRE refrigerator and the water dispenser quit working after 2 years as well. We do with out! I can not stay home from work for that!
We have same problem, but AD is shown instead of error code. Our dryer is not getting hot either. The timed dry seems to at least keep it going, but it won't heat up. We're still under warranty so will see what happens.
So I was getting the same error repeatedly and I read all of the solutions listed below and went downstairs with all my tools in hand ready to take apart the cortol panel, but I looked first at the buttons and indeed I had a slightly stuck button. So, before you go through all this trouble, check your push buttons first to make sure you don't have a stuck button. It might be the easiest fix of your life.
Had same problem, my select button was apparently pushed in too much. This solved the problem.
Have same problem with E68. Executed the test key function and Dryness lights were always on. The button seems to be "less loose" than the other buttons. I tried to push a needle around the button (suggested by someone) but won't go around. How did you, valetiv, "un push" your select button? Thanks.

I was haven't the same issue just without the error message. The dryer would shut off and the 3 lights would flash. I hit cancel and it would change the setting that it was on and then I could start it again. Repeat process.
i cleaned the lint and tighten the screws on the door. It got super hot then the panel lost power.
E68 indicates one of the panel buttons is stuck.
Actually I tried Everything, and after cleaning the lint collection area, yes you have to remove the 2 screws on the inside of the dryer to really get to the lint area, clean the connectors...which needed to be done but didn't stop the E68 error message. It truly is a major job to take the control panel off, so instead I got some Compressed Gas Duster that you use for your keyboards, and sprayed inside the sides of all the buttons as best as possible..Presto!! It finally Worked!!! I think there was dust/lint shorting out the control panel. So try this method before having a repair person come out.

Usually answered in minutes!
I had a different problem with my dryer yesterday. I was drying some clothes when I heard two loud pops and the dryer quit. It threw the circuit breaker. When my husband tried to reset the breaker it popped again and sparks flew out the back of the dryer. It would not let my husband reset the breaker.
We called the place where we bought it and they came right up. He found the terminal block and cord have to be replaced. He will order the parts and hopefully this will fix the problem.
Yes. I am receiving the E68 code and do not know how to make it stop.
same problem with me. Brand new dryer. Works a few seconds then stops and displays the code E68. The online owners manual says nothing abut error codes and what they mean. Very frustrating
Same problem with error message E68
my affinity dryer runs for about 10 minutes then shuts off with the remaining time and 3 lights flashing. I also think it is not ever getting hot
My brand new Affinity dryer runs for about 10 minutes, never gets hot, then turns off and 3 status lights blink constantly all at once. It would be helpful if the unit came with a troubleshooting guide. Help!
all of a sudden the dryer options board(lights etc )begins flashing on. I unplugged the dryer and it stopped for a short time, but started flahing and making a beeping sound. I pressed cancel and it worked for the moment and then started all over again. I manually changed the type of load which changed the drying times and when I finished the lights atarted flahing and making the beeping sound again and flashed the code E68. HEL.............p!
dryer cutting off after a few munites.
Except instead of that error code, our dryer shows "AD" in the panel, and all lights flash. It doesn't heat up, and stops all together in about 5 minutes. Discouraging after what we paid.
HI,
I have the solution.  This just happened to me today so I came online looking for an answer.  I noticed when I slammed the dryer door shut, it WORKS! I think the door sensor gets whack after awhile. Please try this. It worked for me, and I had 2 Error Messages, E68 for a few minutes  and then E4A !!Â
Slam your Dryer Door Shut! (not so hard as to break it, but harder than usual).
Imran.
dryer wont heat, it stop after 5 minutes
I have a LOC error code that won't clear... my dryer won't run all it does is beep when I push buttons
Brand new electrolux dryer lights are flashing. There are no error codes they are just flashing. Help
We had the problem with the dryer as well. Kept starting, then after 30 seconds it would stop and the 3 lights on the right hand side flash. Only when you cancel it would start again, but with the same results. Sometimes it would heat up, sometimes it wouldn't. It's only 4 days old. Had a service repair man in to look at it. Apparently a button is stuck in internally which caused the heat sensor motherboard to burn out. I'm sending the piece of junk back.
the Imran75 suggestion worked for me. I had to do this because I didn't want my clothes to mildew over the weekend. I will be calling a repair man out soon.
