There is a service bulletin for this problem - you need to reintialize the memory settings in the service menu - I have a pdf file showing how to do this.

I have the Hitachi 50V500 TV and last year ,after having the TV for 2 yrs., my TV went pink as well. I found the possible solution at a website called AVS Forum which other said it was the light engine that needed replacement. A tech came out and agreed that the TV needed a new light engine. Once the new light engine went in the pink went away. No more pink and its been over a year.

We have the Hitachi 60V500 and we got the infamous "red cloud" as they call it a few months ago. Called Hitachi, they referred us to a authorized Hitachi dealer in our area. The guy came out, said it was a light engine defect...which we already knew. Called Hitachi's customer service relations (not support) deparment and they sent a new light engine to the dealer. They came out today and installed it. No more red. TV looks great and we've had it almost 4 years. Hitachi paid for the part, we paid for the install. Our cost, $400. We've heard that the part cost around $1500. We felt like the $400 was worth the money for a $3600 TV (what we paid when we bought it) that's been a great TV. Once the problem was diagnosed by the dealer, Hitachi had the part to them in 2 days. Very easy to take care of. TV looks BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a ferguson tv about 6-7 yeras old and everything white is now pink, if a white screen is left on for long on the left and right big dark pink and green patches appear please forward the fix or pdf to [email protected]
