2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager Losing AC

The AC started slowly blowing warmer and warmer air. My husband thought it might only need a charge, so he put more coolant in. It worked for a week and then slowly started blowing warmer and warmer air again until all the air coming out was hot. He put more coolant in, assuming a slow leak that would need to be found and fixed. Well this time it only took a day before it blew hot air out again. Now it will not blow out any cool air regardless of coolant, and there are no obvious leaks. Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Thanks, that is what we were thinking, but it is not an obvious leak of course. I guess we will have to get an AC diagram and just go through seal by seal and hose by hose! Sigh.

I have a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager van. When I turn the AC on sometimes it will not blow out air. However, in a minute or two the air will start coming out of the vents. All of the fan settings work...

your fan motor might be getting ready to stop working, could be a loose electrical connection, you need to know everything that makes that circuit work, such as relays, fuses, etc., could just be some bad connection, there can be so many things that can cause this problem

I have a 1997 plymouth grand voyager. When I turn on my air conditioner, I do not receive any cold air only hot air.I used to receive cold out a couple of months ago but even then it would only blow c

The likely cause is a bad compressor clutch, but there are other possible causes. The first thing to do is to observe the compressor with the engine running. The clutch is inside the pulley. When the a/c is off, the pulley turns on thr belt, but the clutch does not turn. When the a/c is turned on, the clutch should lock on the pulley and turn with it. Run this test and post the result here.

'99 Plymouth Grand Voyager fan switch issues

The problem is not with the switch, it's the blower motor resistor. The resistor is usually located in duct work near the blower motor. It will have 4or 5 wires going to it and is held in place with a couple screws. These things generate heat, so they put them in duct work so the fan blows air across them to keep them cool. Sometimes the plug gets hot and melts, you should be able to buy the resitor and the plug with wires (pig tail) from an auto parts store or a dealer. The resistors are usually about $50 the pig tail is about $30.

Distributor assembly/camshaft sensor for 2000 Grand Voyager

You can replace just the cam sensor, I've done it, but it's kind of a delicate job. You have take apart the distributor to do it, it's not hard to do, you just have to have a little mechanical aptitude. If he's intimidated by this type of thing, you can always get a used one. I think I could probably buy a whole van for $1200.

Engine stalled after driving through huge puddle

it sounds as tho you might have taken some water in the air intake, take the spark plugs out and turn it over for about 20 seconds then put them back in and try it again, also some easy start through the intake whilst trying to start it after step one may assist it
