I have a high pitch squeak when starting dryer, tends to go away when warms up. A bearing maybe?
High pitch metal squeak is unbearable.
How do you get to the problem?
How do you remove the top?
You can generally access the unit from the rear panel. Try and lube the joints around the pully for the belt and any other moving parts. Hopefully you won't have to replace any parts. Good luck

Could be the bearings going, other possibilities could be that the drum is slightly misaligned and scraping against the housing, although that's not very likely, or a bad belt.
Although sometimes it's some obscure thing, I could be compleatly wrong.

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote about dryers and noises...
It will help you determine what is happening there...
This could be a dry support bearing, a dried out drum seal or something stuck in the drum seal. If I could hear it I would know better where to start. Listen and try to locate the source from the above list. It could be the belt but that is not as common. Eric
That is caused by lack of lubrication of the REAR bearing for the drum. It will have to be removed and grease will need to be added. If the machine is run without this, a new bearing will have to be purchased. If the squeeling just started, the bearing is ok - you just have to get the job done very soon. While in there, they should clean the lint out. They should also lube the idler pulley for the belt. The idler pulley is often forgotten, and this item should be lubed every time the machine is serviced. Good luck.
more than likely the theraml fuse on the back of dryer unplug unit and use a continuity tester to check for ohms. the t-fuse is on the exhaust tube also the squeaks usally comes from the drum rollers use a little silicon grease and lube the roller shaft
