HI GIPI

What the reciever you use?

If it's really compayible and support the usage of Flash Drives then the problem can be easily solved by removing U3 that comes pre-installed on these Flash Drives.
Let me know if you need any guidance in removing it.

Flash drive

Hi phun2008

Did your question get answered? (I'm not sure what "no thanks" was in response to.)

Your flash drives should work fine w/ Windows XP. They should be detected by the operating system as mass storage devices - plug-n-play - w/ no need for drivers installtion, etc.

You may, however, experience detection issues w/ them on systems w/ older USB hardware. If the flash drives are USB 2.0 drives, they will not be detected on systems running USB 1.1 or earlier - regardless of the OS (operating system) installed.

On the other hand, if they are USB 1.1 flash drives, they should be detected fine on both older and newer USB ports as USB 2.0 is "backward compatible".

I hope this helps.

My laptop does not recognize usb flash drives, while my desktop does. I have an HP Pavilion running windows XP. Are there any drivers to install so these flash drives/mp3 players/camerasmight be...

Some USB flash disks need to draw too much power for use on particular laptops,  as Laptops tend to have USB ports which only have a low current draw,

the only way around this is to buy a "Powered" USB Hub (IE a USB hub with it's own plugtop power supply).

My Portable HDD is exactly the same way, and doesn't work on some laptops for this very reason.
