LCD projector still not working after lamp change

The projector I am working on seems to be dual badged. On the top and sides it says it's a Dukane ImagePro 8755D, but on the bottom it says it's a Hitachi CP-X250. Anyway, before I changed the lamp, the projector's fan would start to spin up then power down four times in succession, then the fan would stay on for about 8 seconds then go off. The Power indicator light now is steady red and the Temp indicator light is flashing red. I've changed the filter and the lamp only to find that I still have the same problem. The projector lamp never even starts to come on. Does anyone have any advise besides sending it back to Dukane for repair?

Is the ballast in the lamp module or in the projector? Because I tried with a brand new lamp module.

Sounds like you have a faulty ballast. I recomend changing it. This is your lamps own power supply.

The ballast is in the projector. the 2 lines that the lamp connect to take you straight to the ballast

Hello Bucky

Red power LED without any other LEDs usually indicates a power issue with incoming power or with the projectors circuit power supply. You should try a different power source first.

Why yellow display in dukane projector?

it has several possible reason. 1) color wheel 2) sensor board. 3)DMD boar 4) main board.

the most possible reason should be color wheel or sensor board.

at present, what you can do by yourself, trying to clean sensor board, specially clean that small black chip on sensor board. perhaps it is helpful

We have new DuKane LCD Projector Model 8755J that will not keep the screen projection from the Dell Desktop computer it is attached. The screen flashes up, but does not stay connected to show the screen....

give it to me its broken.
jk
but no really, its broken. you might try an alternative input, but short of that its a pickup sensor issue- not seeing the signal.

replace the master circuit board in it, or just buy a new one.

Pixels appear shifted or smeared

I'm looking at the specs for yu projector right now.

Native resolution = 800 x 600
Maximum resolution = 1280 x 1024

The problem you describe can occur when you run a hi-res signal over 1280- x 1024 into your Dukane projector.

You say that this problem is there, whether projecting a computer image or not.

I have two thoughts.

(1) You have suffered one or more LCD panel failures.

(2) The combining prism in your optical block has come loose.

In either case, there is no simple repair that you can do yourself, and looking at the age & low-specs of the machine, don't put a single dime into repairing the machine.
