You need to goto
the manufacturers website, find their support section and there should be a
list of drivers for your specific machine. Installing these should resolve your
problem. I have a list of links to most manufacturers drivers on my website.
Hope this helps,

You can download any/all the Windows XP device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Use this link :-. http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp#
Please check the physical volume knob. Fn+Esc is for mute. Please press on it again and make sure that it is not mute. If it does not work, please go to the device manager under control panel-hardware and sound-device manager-sound, game and video controllers. Click the entry for the sound (if there is only one, please click on it), select properties, click on driver tab then uninstall. Please restart your laptop and check sound. Hope it works. Thank you.
I've tried the 3152, 2152, and a bunch of others from Toshiba, MS and Yamaha.
Basically Toshiba took this stand, if yor out of warranty, your **** out of luck. I'm a true retailer and because of Toshiba's crappy atitude I've dropped thier laptops. They may have a decent laptop, when they work, don't depend on service otherwise.....
Hi,
Even if the hardware is physically attached/installed, the necessary software/drivers must likewise be installed in the Operating System of the laptop. Initially you can also verify that your laptop recognizes the sound card by verifying that is present and enabled in the CMOS/BIOS.
If you are using a Windows based OS, you can verify that the appropriate drivers are installed in the Device Manager under the Sound, video and game controllers. If there is a Yello or Red mark on the multimedia or sound device, then you need to reinstall the software.
The driver/software is normally available in the recovery/installation CD that came with the laptop. If it is not available, it may be downloaded from the Toshiba site/support/download/drivers. Drivers are OS specific. ou should specify what Windows or OS you are using.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
