When pressing trigger welder clicking as if feeding wire but no wire being fed. Have bypassed wire feed motor, runs ok, cleaned all contacts and blown through with air hose but still no feed.

If the wire feed on your Hobart 251 MIG welder won't stop when you turn it on, there could be a few possible causes. Here are a few things to check:
Check the trigger on the MIG gun: Make sure that the trigger on the MIG gun is not stuck or damaged. If the trigger is stuck in the "on" position, it will cause the wire to continuously feed.
Check the wire feed motor: The wire feed motor could be faulty or jammed, causing the wire to feed continuously. Try disconnecting the wire feed motor from the welder and see if the wire still feeds. If it does not, then the motor is likely the problem.
Check the wire spool: Make sure that the wire spool is installed correctly and is not jammed or tangled. If the wire is not feeding smoothly from the spool, it could cause the wire to feed continuously.
Check the wire feed control settings: Ensure that the wire feed control settings are set correctly. If the wire feed speed is set too high, it could cause the wire to feed continuously.
If none of these solutions resolve the issue, it may be best to contact a qualified technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.
Don't know the welder, but often there is a protection fuse on the circuit board. Check this one.
Also look for broken wires around connections.
If the machine is clicking, then it will be a minor problem.
Disconnect from power when you check inside.
Elmer, If you remove the gun assembly from the machine, if the machine is now not feeding wire, the problem is most likely the gun trigger is faulty. The switch contacts heat up and start sticking over time. If able too disassemble and clean trigger contacts. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Here's a few things you can check: When gun trigger is pulled, do the drive wheels turn? If they aren't, pull the trigger again; do you hear anything within the machine (contactors closing, gas solinouds opening, any clicking, etc.) that would indicate the trigger circuit is functional? If the drive wheels are turning, but wire isn't being pushed thru the mig gun, check for proper drive roll vs. wire size. If that is correct, check gun liner for obstructions. Flux cored wire tends to stop up a wire liner fairly quickly.
Try to short the trigger wire back closer to the unit or better still inside the panel somewhere. There is often a relay that is operated that allows gas to flow and power to the wire feed motor. Check where the trigger wire goes it may give you some idea. If you can identify the part you can source one and see if it worthwile repairing. Cheers
has it done this before some wire feed welders the cheaper ones have hot switches mean that push wire all the time stuped i know but if it is not a hot switch than it is making contact some how and it could be inside the wip check it as best you can or take the wip in to where you got it from
Maybe you can get lucky like I did . Some times the acr volt selector switch gets corrosion in it and wont let the circuit board know to send power to the wire feed motor. You can cycle this arc volt. switch in my case it is the a,b,c,d,e, switch back and fourth a few times and this will brake the corrosion and your wire might feed again as mine did . This corrosion build up happens from not using and or sollecting the switch much usually on a welder at hm that gets very little use. it is common good luck .
