I have a IBM Think pad laptop running Windows xp that keep shutting down, it go through the POST OK. then 2-3 minutes it shut down. The fan is OK, and the cooling system is ok, so what do I do next.

Hi

its either a software problem or a hardware problem

normally over heating shuts down older style laptops

try using a lap top cooling pad

sometimes its a faulty hard drive

Try reinstalling XP windows again

Would like to reset my ibm laptop it says my mircosoft online service is temporarily unavailable and my laptop is slower than ever

Hi and welcome to Fixya1

To reset the machine back to the factory settings, just follow these steps:
    • 1 Shutdown your machine and make sure that the charger is plugged in before doing the reset. Turn on the machine.
    • 2 Press the blue Access IBM button on your ThinkPad keyboard at the screen prompt. The screen prompt reads "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button." This interrupts the Windows reboot process.
    • 3 Double click "Recover to Factory Contents" at the Access IBM predesktop menu.
    • 4 Follow the recovery wizard prompts to initiate the factory restoration process. Your ThinkPad will automatically reboot upon completion.
Hope this helps!

My ibm laptop r50e shuts off automatically while i was downloading data from other device. until now it can not be turned on. please help me fix this problem

First this is probably a power problem, so first make sure the system is shutdown completely and remove the battery and disconnect the ac adapter then wait a good 5 to 10 minutes. Next if you have anything connected to the system disconnect all of them, then go ahead and try to turn on the system.

IBM Think Pad T22 auto -shut down a few minutes

Try running it without the battery. Sometimes an IBM battery can develop a short and cause this. If it still does it without the battery, I'm afraid it's the power management chip on the motherboard, and the motherboard will need to be replaced.
