Hi, how do you do a hard reset of the wdl 2100?

Have you tried a hard reset? Have removed the battery? Best bet is use Software Recovery Tool for this. Not sure you get it from Nokia or Microsoft. It has fixed many problems.

hard reset the device, google it.

try to resset it again by hard reset
and make sure you have backed up your private data
nothing to worry just remove your battery for 5 min and try to restart

Try the defauld codes "1234" or "0000", if it didn't work, You can unlock your Nokia 2100 using Mater reset code. It completely resets your phone, thereby removing the security lock. You can get this code from Unlock-free.com , for free of cost!!

I own a navigon 2100 as well. Very nice device and you can install the 5100 software and the 7100 maps and points of interest. gpspassions.com is the best resource for 2100 help.

Try this:
Hard Reset Procedure - if the PNA is on, press the Power button until the unit goes off. Press again and hold the button down - the screen will come on and after a few seconds go off again. Press the Power button again and the screen will come back. If you get the opening "music", you know the Hard reset was successful.

If you leave the memory card out and keep the unit powered on, you will after a few 10's of seconds go into the Demo mode. When you reinsert the SD card a soft reset will occur (equivalent to pressing the recessed button on the left hand side) and the unit will initialize into whatever the SD card tells it to (see below). .

Hi,
have you tried reseating the hard drive what that means is to remove all connections from the hard drive and then putting them back, somtime it resolves the issue, and another thing you can try is reseting your bios to default settings, in a worse case this could mean that you have lost all the data on your hard drive and it needs replacement.
If you are not tech you can ask somebody more tech to do try the above steps for you, and do download the manual for your system before trying the above steps

yes they should do, the board should be backward compatable, as 2100 266mhz is hard to come by nowadays
