Code F61 can point to trouble in the audio output ic chip, are the loudspeakers connected correctly no short circuits. Also check that the cooling fan operates.

Unfortunately this could be the main audio amp getting too hot and shutting itself down. Generally caused by a faulty audio amp IC transistors or the power supply.

I have an HP Pavillion dv9500 laptop. After shutting down, all the keyboard lights to the right of the power button stay lit. This shows the power is not shut off but should be. Any solutions?

First of all, is the laptop on charge? Usually when the laptop is on charge there is a light somewhere that remains on until it is charged. After charging, the light goes of and if the laptop is not used for a long time, the battery usually discharges a little and the system senses this and recharges it as top-up and the light comes on, then goes off once charged. If your laptop is not on charge, then there is 2 things that could be the cause. 1) It is not shut down properly (on stand-by). 2) It may be downloading updates and it would probably shut down later, depending on the size of the update, it may take a few minutes or up to 1 hour. If in 1 hour the light is still on, then there is a problem with the laptop and need to be checked by a professional, or, altermnatively, turn it off a second time and see if the light still remains on. Lastly, you did not state what kind of lights remain on, Power, Charging, Standby, etc. it is difficult to help you with your query as the problem could be the laptop itself. There are other things that could keep the laptop on, and that may be if your laptop is connected to a network. Regards.

While playing the DVD of Dark Knight on my 5.1 surround system last night, my audio system would simply turn itself off.  It seemed to happen during moments of extreme sound, i.e. explosions, gun shots,...

this is a common problem with this unit the main thing is a low grade capcitor that the manufacturers used which is known to discharge all of its power at once which it recieves a high signal output and tells the unit to shut down the solution is very technical but basiclly you gave to install a higher amp capacitor.

Problem with SAMSUNG HT-X20!!

The fan is going bad and when u play dvd's the spining of the cd is acting as a fan witch is why they play longer then any other mode i had the same problem 2 times the second time samsung wanted 160$!!! thats bull because it keeps going out so what u do is open the case and remove the cover over all the capaciters and whatnot and replace that fan in the back then cut a hole in the top of the metal case directly about the cap's that warm up and install a aditional fan to act as a chimney a little noisy but i did this and the player had been runing in aux and radio mode for a few days stright now no problems at all it's alot of work and skill but for 2 5-15 dolar fans sure beats the 160 for repair or buying a new recever!

Lite-on Combo CD/DVD Rom SOHC-5236K

It is not recommended to shut down your system by pressing the power button for 5 seconds. Its the same as unplugging your system, but i guess you don't have a choice. DVD players are quite troublesome. Some DVD players are picky to some CDs, or it could be that the disk may be scratched, or there may be dust in the lense of the player. About the CD not coming out of the drive, it could be a mechanism failure. Is the CD still in the drive? Turn off your PC, take a pin and insert it in the pinhole located in the DVD player. It is a manual eject button used to take off your CD during lockups. Your PC hanging up is because of the DVD.

Unit automatically switches off

Maybe all you need is to dust off the DVD player's pickup. I have had this happen several times with several players. After dusting the pickup, those players are still in service.
